$6,900

This is my 2nd BMW. It is amazing that just 11 years ago this car was purchased for over $45,000! I actually looked around for one of these a while. They are pretty rare. I remember in the day, seeing one on the way to work. It actually was neck to neck with four BIG guys in it against my 3000GT! From then on, I have always kept my eye out for one. Anyway, this M3 is in fair condition. Never smoked in, No accident history. I believe I am the third owner. This car came from MA. I shipped it here to Texas. It has been kept under a carport most of its life here in Texas. The motor is strong. Always changed oil at BMW certified Advanced automotive. Doesn't leak anything, and doesn't burn anything. This was the car my wife drove back and forth to work about 40 miles a day. It gets an amazing 28 mpg average, and still has the power of a 240hp I6. The transmission shifts smoothly and all power options work. A/C and the heater work great.

PS, PB, PW, PL, pretty much all power
Keyless entry with alarm, 2 remotes
All leather, and wood trim.
Power sunroof
Wiring for Subwoofer in trunk
All factory, no mods.
Full climate controls, 2 zones.
Full Trip/Econ/Temp/Speed monitoring computer
MP3 CD player 50wX4
Crusie control
All blinkers/side markers have been converted to clear euro style. (yellow bulbs are in the rear due to Texas Laws.)
New Projector Fog lights
Many other options**************
Here are the things that need a little TLC.
1. The front right shock needs replacing (I might be replacing both front shocks soon..)
2. The tires are extremely low on tread. The trailing arm bushings are allowing the back wheels to walk. I may end up fixing this as well.
3. There is a rust spot under the back hatch about the size of a half dollar. It hasn't grown since I have had it. But it would look a lot better fixed.
4. There is one small (Dime size) hole in the front driver's seat, I am going to try to fix it.
5. The drivers side door has some paint coming off, the under side is still the same boston green.
6. Brakes work, but front rotors need replacing. (rotors are on their way).
7. And the usual defects (some surface scratches and rock chips) of a car that is 10 years old. There is no spare (somebody stuck a 328/325 spare in there for some reason.), or jack.
8. Somebody stole the BMW symbol off the front of the car. It is pretty cheap on ebay.
9. The front electric fan doesn't work. (this will be replaced soon. It was shipped today.)

This is a great car that needs a little TLC. My wife and I just celebrated our 5th Anniversary and I got her a 2001 Mustang GT convertible. So we are no longer going to need this car.

THIS 1997 BMW M3 IS USED AND IS SOLD AS IS. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. I WILL ASSIST IN LOADING ON TO TRUCK IF NEEDED. ANY QUESTIONS? CALL ME 254.405.4982

Thanks, CVGTURBO86 and runnyd. You beat me too it! Yes, this is a 1997 M3 Sedan.

A search on Wikipedia for BMW M3 says: "It was also available as a sedan starting in model year 1997, and as convertible in 1998. Production of the sedan was halted in 1998, while the other models continued until 1999."

Unfortunately on insurance: "Year: 1997 Make: BMW Model: M3 Sedan".

I got this for a performance family sedan. Since my wife and I are planning on waiting another year for kids, we decided to get coupes. Maybe in a year, I will get another one!

Just in case Albanian is really subborn, here is the first part of the VIN: wbscd0324veeXXXXX

On bmwmregistry...
I checked the production numbers, "USA sedan automatic (LHD): 4,036 built from 09/96 thru 05/98"
And this: "For the 1997 model year (September, 1996 production), a North American-spec M3 sedan was added and Canada received the S52-powered E36 M3 for the first time. .... Though all North American E36 M3 3.2 coupes were fitted with a manual gearbox, both the sedan and convertible could be ordered with a ZF five-speed automatic transmission."

I just looked up a quote from uship dot com. They quote about $650. I have a friend that even has a better company bid list. I can check. Usually it is around $300-500 depending on the load/area the trucks are headed.

Yep, that was me. Ebay is a terrible place to sell cars from mid Dec - late Feb for sports cars. or just cars period, unless 4x4. The guy that won the auction, said he pushed the button by accident. Anyway, he never paid, or even called. I tried calling him a bunch of times, and all I would get was a fax machine. I turned him into eBay. His ID: rigmel67, from Houston, tx. He has a non-pay strike against him. Even after all that, I still had to upfront $50+ for the listing. They only refunded half of the listing fees. Grrr..

PS. Yeah, I remember you.. You asked me about the car.... You are in Maryland right? Did you ever get a M3?

Hey Chris, I will leave the 17s on the car. They aren't perfect, but they do add a ton to the look of it. I was wanting to keep them and possibly put them on the 328i (like yours).

If you took the contours(17s) off what would you put on? Your 328s 16s? Im not sure if theyd even fit over the brakes plus youd have a hell of a time selling an M3 on sub M3 wheels. Ive never heard of someone debating whether or not to sell the STOCK rims with a car unless its got better one on it. lol

BTW most of us guys here know about the history of these cars. After all, this is a BMW forum.

Just pointing those things out, not trying to be a dick. Seems like a nice car that you should have no trouble selling at that price. GL

Well, I was going to use the rims to "help" the value of the 328, and yes the 16s fit just fine on the M3 (I was actually surprised, I bought them off a guy that had them on a M3). They were used a winter rims... and they are nice if you want to rotate your tires.. But anyway... It was obviously a bad idea... I definitely realize must of us understand the history of these great cars... but it is nice to be reminded right?? Ok, I will remove that part... Sorry...
