My driver's rear damper mount ripped out today. Has anybody local had or fixed this problem? I'm going to try to bust my ass and get my beater running so I can take it to work tomorrow.

It's a known problem. Depending on the severity of the damage, you may need to have new metal welded onto the top of the shock tower.

Weld it on over the piece that's there or replace what's there?

Both studs have a good sized piece of metal attached to them that's no longer connected to the vehicle.

It sounds like your shock mount ripped out the shock tower sheet metal. The sheet metal has to be replaced or reinforced before the shock mount is reinstalled.

Any of our local qualified independents should be able to help you. They've probably seen this before.
