3SeriesPLZ 02-10-2008, 04:59 AM Kudos as always...I swear I don't even know why I look anymore. It's almost like I want to see a picture and say, "HA!!! You missed a spot!!!" I think that would be really gratifying to catch a mistake....
Somehow I don't think that I will ever get the pleasure. NIce work.
m3beemer16 02-10-2008, 06:29 AM nice like always! That one looked like a lot of work..
how long did that take you?
skininsac 02-10-2008, 06:48 AM Do you ever show the car owner the before and after photos for them really get the effect of your work and their negligence?
FMINUS 02-10-2008, 12:58 PM thanks for all the nice comments
xol5000- A lot of the "chips" were actually contaminated particles that were removed.
m3beemer16- 2 people 6 hours
shininsac- I normally send them a link of the pics I posted and tell them to save them so they will have them to post up on the day they sell their car.
The owner was very happy, this cars got around 115k on the odometer/ He said "its black again!"
That looks amazing. Im jealous.
How long have you been detailing? I guess you just learn over the years.
ESMcBlurM3 02-10-2008, 06:04 PM That's got to be one of the dirtiest "befores" I've seen you tackle. Very impressive stuff. Do you take mail-orders?;)
dutch325 02-10-2008, 06:10 PM wow, now that's doing work.
Brandjas18 02-10-2008, 07:08 PM Unreal....the end.

OhGeez 02-10-2008, 07:45 PM Amazing work!!
Personally I think the engine bay is a little too shiny. It reminds me of the things used car dealers do.

CD2 needs to be heated up before the resins crosslink to look matte. It does not stay shiny and it actually helps to repel dust
M0nK3y 02-10-2008, 08:03 PM Thats the way a real E46 should look like. Great job again FMINUS
OT: FMINUS: I detailed my sister's Scion tC today w/ the Menzerna Polishes. Its amazing! I threw HGS on today, and im going to put another layer on tomorrow w/ poorboys red paste wax...........Ill post a thread for sure

Whats HGS? Nattys Red is good stuff, its just a little hard to remove!
M0nK3y 02-10-2008, 09:08 PM Whats HGS? Nattys Red is good stuff, its just a little hard to remove!
Sorry, Klasse High Gloss Sealant.........
And well, it shouldn't be as hard as the sealant. Jeez, that stuff is hard as a rock........I learned the hard way, by applying too much the first time on the fender (id didn't even seem like much, just a couple drops) I had to pull out my Quik Detailer to help remove it alittle........
Over all the car is wet like no other, can't wait to see the wax on it
FMINUS-
What does the 3M Sun Gun do exactly? Is it to help you get a better look at the paint for swirls/damage/imperfections?
Great work as always! I'm a big fan!
Thanks,
Jed

Oh ok, I was about to say. I was wondering it was like a supplement to having halogen lighting to check your work.
Thanks guys!
Ianbiz 02-10-2008, 09:59 PM wow!!! I think this is one of your better details! As usual, the final product looks AMAZING!

m3beemer16 02-11-2008, 04:41 AM Can you explain your steps on the Engine Bay? I know you have had this question asked before in a different thread, but if you can give a quick description on how and what products you used that would be sweet! I am about to tackle a engine bay clean-up soon.

depends on the car but most of hte time its:
Cover all sensitive parts
PW
spray P21s TAW or 1Z BLitz
Agitate
PW
blow dry
dress
jsbimmer 02-13-2008, 07:18 PM Great work once again FMINUS!!... I'm amazed at the number of nice newer cars that are totally neglected by their owners. Down right shameful. My 13 year old E36 never gets that dirty! I think I'd be embarrassed to show up in a car in that condition. I guess some people just don't care.

I must have responded to yoru other thread with my response to this post :lol
I didn't knwo it was safe to powerwash the engine bay... I guess everything is pretty much covered and safe from water.
I need to get some P21s TAW... What do you dress it with? Thats what leaves the shiny finish right?

CG fade2black or CD2
Hanselhoff 02-15-2008, 10:24 PM all 95 plus cars in general have a lot plastic in the engine bay...When we powerwash engines its for about 30 seconds or less of constant spray at the most, this is after the car is running, and use ur air compressor for a while to get it all out of there, above, on and below the engine, and dress as you would like...
Ridium 02-16-2008, 06:20 PM the devil of car care lives in Chino Hills California. haha looks amazing fminus
ToppedOut525i 02-16-2008, 08:12 PM what do you charge for a job like that?
nathancarter 02-16-2008, 08:52 PM Very nice.
I was going to comment that I didn't like the shiny engine bay, it's good to know that it will fade to matte with a bit of heat. I need to do my engine, it's not particularly dirty but some of the black is fading a bit - the top of the airbox where it contacts the hood pad, and the top of the windshield washer reservoir.
Any "after" photos of interior?

No interior after, ill try to take some more since people are requesting it but honestly IMO, any bozo can take a vacuum/extractor and make the interior look good. So its really nothing special. I am still waiting for a request for a full leather restoration, i will def take pics of that!
740ibimmer 02-20-2008, 05:12 PM I feel ya fminus. i went last night and bought my green machine at walmart. they had it at half off. the pro version.$46.00 not bad. when i do my interior. i will be removing the seats. and the center console. that way i can do a through cleaning.
