I decided to use the Liquid Glass package for the first time on my 335i. First I washed with the LG wash. Then as I was applying the LG precleaner, I noticed water spots on the hood (yes, i washed in the sun...there's no shade). I tried to use more wash to get rid of the spots. Didn't work. Then I used the precleaner (thinking it should strip any impurities off the car), and that didn't work either! Being rather stupid, I applied the LG polish on top. Please help and give me some suggestions as to how I can get rid of these spots. I'm assuming i need to at least use the precleaner to get the LG polish off that area first. Thanks!

Try using Valugard ABC system
i just don't understand how the spots could be so difficult to remove minutes after they formed.

Chances are the water spots have etched themselves in the paint, and it was probably be before you washed the car. Your best bet is to throw some clay at it, and work in a good paint cleaner. For water spots, I have tried Liquid Glass Precleaner, but without a doubt the $5 bottle of Meguiar's Paint Cleaner (step 1) from their 3 step system is the absolute best stuff I have used at removing water spots. If that can not remove it, than those water spots have been there for a VERY long time and have eaten through most of the clear coat, meaning only a rotary with a heavy compound will remove it, but then you run the risk of premature clear coat failure since the clear in that spot will be very thin due to the water etching eating so far through.

I use IP and orange pad to remove months of waterspots on a black trans am.

The thing is, the car's only a month old. It's been out in the rain several times, but i don't think the water spots were from the rain due to the patterns and the fact that it's only on the left side of the hood. Could washing the car in the sun and allowing the hood to air dry leave such damage to the paint????

My body guy told me that a lot of the acid rain/water spot damage on Bimmers and Mercs is from the fact that they don't have the sulfur emissions restrictions in Germany that we have here, so the cars are subjected to heavy acid rain damage when they're sitting in the storage yards at the factory and waiting to be loaded onto the transport ships.
