SOLD!
Up for sale is my 2001 BMW X5 4.4L SUV in the very highly desirable and sought after Jet Black exterior with black interior. I will start with the fact that I searched for almost a year before finding this particular X5 as I was particular about the options I wanted it to be equipped with. This X5 has navigation (upgraded widescreen over the typical ugly 4:3 nav), sport package (19” wheels, upgraded suspension, European clear lights, upgraded interior accents such as sport steering wheel, upgraded brakes, etc), Premium package (VERY RARE Birch wood interior trim, not the maple ones usually found, fold down rear seats, rear cargo cover, etc) XENON headlights, hill descent control, moonroof, rear shades, upgraded DSP (dynamic sound processing) sound system, steptronic transmission, cd changer, and much more. The X5’s sticker price when new was well over $70,000.
It has had 2 meticulous and enthusiast owners and was a previous BMW certified CPO car (Certified Pre Owned, the warranty just ran out at 100k miles). The car currently has 113k miles on it although 98% of those miles are highway miles (as the immaculate condition of the exterior and interior prove) It has never been “driven hard” as I am an older gentleman (as was the previous owner) and always kept the car under 3k RPM’s. In addition to all this, a strict maintenance schedule was adhered to it’s entire life including BMW synthetic oil changes done every 3k miles as opposed to the BMW recommended 15k miles (which sounds crazy to me). Within the last 5k miles the car has had:
-New OEM front control arms w/bushings, New OEM tie rods/sway bar links ($1000) these are normal maintenance items on these cars at about 80k and the ones on the car were still good but I decided to have them replaced anyways
-New OEM spark plugs ($200)
-New OEM front cv boots installed ($500)
-Transmission fluid/filter changed with OEM fluids and filter ($500)
-Brand new OEM BMW battery within the last month ($200)
Within the past 1k miles the car had brand new OEM BMW Rotors, Pads, and sensors (brakes) installed all around ($1200) These were very expensive however my BMW mechanic recommended on keeping with OEM brakes as they are the best.
-New Rear main seal (normal wear item that must be changed on these cars $400)
-New Rear windshield wiper motor (These go out on these cars all the time, BMW issued an updated part that supersedes the older inferior part which I bought and had installed $400)
The car’s exterior and interior are in great shape, I’m a detailing enthusiast and have religiously kept the car’s exterior up with P21S, Poorboys, Meguiars, and Mother’s products (the reflectivity is amazing, people mistake the car for a much newer year all the time). There are hardly any rock chips on the front end and the paint looks almost new. The leather interior was regularly conditioned with Lexol conditioner and it shows (very little wear). The X5 runs and drives amazingly without any problems.
The car has a few little “extras” in addition to it that I will include with the car, they are:
-OEM BMW Running boards dealer installed ($2000)
-OEM Widescreen 16:9 Navigation screen (much nicer then the smaller one that came on X5’s in ’01) $1000
-OEM BMW Titanium Shadow “sport” grilles
-OEM BMW all weather rubber rear floor mats (keeps the rear carpet clean!)
-A perfect tint job to keep the interior looking new
-K&N Lifetime air filter (does not need to be changed only regular 30k mile cleanings, this was just installed 1k miles ago and the power improvement is noticeable) This bumps the car’s horsepower to approximately 325 hp!
The car can go another 100k miles with no problems as long as the maintenance is kept up. It pains me to let this car go since I have so much time and money into it, however recent life changes forces the sale. You have to see this car in order to appreciate it fully, the pictures do not do justice to the car. I have higher resolution versions of the pictures and can email them to interested parties, I own the car outright and have the title in hand, I am a private party and not a dealer so no tax. I have underpriced it at $18,000. I have sold several of my previous cars on the forums and can provide references. Email me with any questions: ali@abbasiinc.com
