Hello Guys,

After reading some wonderful posts on BMW Bluetooth installation, q few questions have been bugging me since then. First let me tell you about my car. It's a black exterior biege interior 323i Sedan 4Dr 1999 model (built in 12/1998) and has a business cassette + Apline 6 CD Changer in the trunk. The trunk lining has sticked saying pre-wired for BMW Phone , pre-wired for CD changer etc.. What I'm looking fwd to is add the bluetooth functionality in my car. So following are my questions

1. Will the retrofit bluetooth kit for E46 being sold on bimmernav work with my 1999 323i (manufactured in 12/98) ? Can't post a link 'coz this is my first post.
2. From the description above, do you think my car has the BMW assist module in it? If not, is it a big thing to get ? I know it's kinda stupid question 'coz most of you might say "hey... why don't you just rip off the trunk lining and check for yourself". Well, I can do that but I just wanted to ask people here for their valuable input based on their experience and the above given explanation of my car.
3. Does the Alpine CD changer have to be removed for the bluetooth to work or is there a way by which I can make both of them to work together ?
4. For these 1999 built 323i, do we have to purchase the SES Jumper plug ? What's the need for a SES jumper plug ?
5. The list of compatible phones does not have the audiovox PPC-6700 (pocket PC) phone listed even though the phone has built in BT. Has anybody tried using the PPC-6700 with their bluetooth kit ?

Guess these are most of the top questions before I order the BT kit. Didn't want to buy that expensive an equipment without having to use it with any of my gadgets.

Really appreciate everybody's response to the above questions. I'm sure your responses will definitely be helpful for other owners too.

Gosh.. so many people posting so many posts and not even a single reply on this one. In summary, all I asked was for if the retrofit Bluetooth kit can be installed in a 1999 4 dr 323i Sedan without disabling the Alpine CD changer installed in the trunk, and no answers to it. Where's your experience guys ?
