i thinking of fetting a 95 vert and i have a 95 m3 i was wondering if i was to swap out the motor,int,suspension,diff,etc.... when i swap out the ECU's will the motor for the top be affected? or is it ran by a relay?? has anyone here done this? any complications i should be aware about before starting this project?

try and get a 325 vert as the 3 litre m3 engine is easier to fit as their wont be any wiring to sort out for the EWS.the 328's came with EWS and possibly later 325's, i'm not 100%, making the ignition part a bit harder to get past, not impossible though
the engine has a seperate harness that plugs into the ECU so the convertibles wiring for everything else wont be affected, just the ECU to plug in along with 3 others i think, 2 on the fuse box and one next to the diagnostics port, very straight forward anyway.
you will need to swap exhausts over, fit the m3 radiator and header tank.
i did one using a 325 gearbox, still kept the 325 running gear and its ok so far, if you have all the m3 running gear fit it anyway.
you could fit the m3 brakes or sell what you have left and buy e46 330 diesel or gas front discs, carriers, calipers and pads, these bolt straight on with no issues other than they only fit behind 17" rims or bigger.
add the e36 m3's master cylinder and servo along with braided brake (and clutch lines) to give your new conversion some serious stopping power.

if the m3 is a coupe then the rear seats wont fit in the vert, they are totally different, fronts are no problem at all.

i would definately do the conversion if you have a donor car, its really easy i thought, and im not a mechanic!
good luck and keep us posted.

some early 325's shared a similar suspension set up to the m3, i know the 325 saloon we did had m3 suspension on it already but it was still factory 325 stuff, we just fitted new parts and upgraded the anti-roll bar.
if you have all the m3 running gear then i would transfer the rear suspension set up in one piece including the diff, then use the m3 prop and box just because you have it.
bumpers and skirts can swap over, the only thing that wont fit in/on the vert is the rear seats

there are tons of threads about motor swaps, even a whole section of the forum dedicated to it.

you might want to read up there and post with lots of people that have actually completed the process themselves. theres a ton of info out there.
