Well for those that remember my transmission woes I FINALLY got it rebuilt and back in the car and down off the jackstands. (the 7 has more air time then Delta.. Lol) After double and triple checking everything I put it in drive and she drove out of the Garage!! Took her out on a shake down run and can not tell you how wonderful it shifted and ran. Sure have missed driving her.

Also got the Angel eyes installed so it was a Great day!!

For those that don't remember what happened here is the link

I have a bunch off pictures to upload and will put together a new post of what I did on the rebuild.

You are my hero. That was one complete job. You must know how that thing works better than anyone.

How was your transmission before you got the original warning? Mine delays occasionally, and I'll admit I'm definitely worried about it.

that's awesome, I was just reading that on bimmerboard. Did you have any tranny rebuilding experience in the past?

Thanks, Yeah I deffinatly know alittle more on how the Trans works not any expert by any means but would do it again if I had to.

Simptoms before it went bad was once in a while the car felt like it would not engage into drive then it would suddenly engage. Kind of felt like the brakes were stuck and then would release.

I have rebuilt 3 Chevy transmissions in the past and this one was acually easier then those. I let it intimadate me alittle bit just because it was a BMW and thought it was going to be more complex.

Well I'm slightly reassured by that. Haven't had that happen to me before.

Wow, good for you.. How about cost of parts and approximate savings due to DIY as opposed to stealership / trans shop ?

I did a post over on the other board you can view it by going to this link

I also gave a breakdown on how much the parts cost me. I was given quotes between $1900 for a junkyard trans installed all the way up to 7K at the dealer for a remanufatured one installed.
