Ok, I've searched but still don't have an answer but I know you guys have one. In the forum can you tell if this 98 m3 is eurospec? I can't get a photo of the motor but I do have the vin

No, it is a US spec E36 M3 cabrio with an auto.
A good rule of thumb is if the 7th digit in the VIN is a 3, it is US spec.

Sounds like the european delivery program. You pick your car up from BMW Germany to use while on holidays. When you head home they ship it to your dealer of choice. It usually saves you 10% on the purchase price.
