I'd like to post up my E30 build with pictures... but I don't feel like posting 15 useless posts to allow me to post pictures. Can a mod lift this requirement and allow me to make my posts? I'll edit this with the post if the mods let me.
Thanks,
Zach
EDIT: I got my 15 posts so here goes:
Well, where to begin?
I bought this 88 325is back in June of 2007 with a 5-lug conversion from a 318ti, z3 wheels, a short shifter of unknown origins, hyundai tiburon seats, ebay tail lights and small bumper conversion.
I originally planned on tracking it once a month and driving it on the streets occasionally as well. Things changed when I started doing little mods here and there. The car turned out to be really fun on the track and increasingly annoying to drive on the street. At this point I decided to gut it, cage it and make it track only.
Here are some pictures as soon as I picked it up and removed the rear door panels, the carpet, the seats and the gunk from the trunk:

Soon after having it like this, I purchased some parts to get started:
weld-in roll cage from kirk racing
uuc race shifter
kumho 710s
stainless brake lines
brembo slotted rotors
carbotech pads
This left it looking like this:

I originally had it set up with the h&r 318ti springs all the around and stock shocks. With this setup I was unable to get good camber out of the front with the 5-lug conversion and regular camber plates from Ireland Engineering. I switched over to a dedicated small diameter spring coilover setup for the front with a different set of camber plates. This allowed me the extra space in the shock towers to get the right camber.
This is the original cage... notice the horrible placement of the doorbars?

At this stage I did some track events and some drift events:

And here you can see the bent RR trailing arm:

This winters work:
The inspiration for making it track only came highly from the great SpecE30 series we have going on down here in the South East. Although I think that is a great series, I have this "problem" with wanting to build a car the way I want it. This "problem" usually ends up with costing me more money than I should spend, but I really like the freedom of being able to pick and choose what mods I want to do to my car.
Mods:
-lexan windows all the way around
-full removal of interior, heater core and dash
-custom aluminum dash
-gutted doors
-finished up the cage, correctly this time
-kirkey aluminum racing seat

I will take more pictures today of the dash all the way installed and all the lexan work finished up. It's coming down to the line of having it ready for this weekend. I've got tests out the wazoo this week for school and with having to get this car finished and all the tests, i'm super stressed. On that note i'll be at CMP this coming weekend on the new course. I'm excited to get it out there in it's new form and relieve some of this stress.
Thanks,
Zach
