So I've been reading alot of reviews on Tirerack and elsewhere and have narrowed down my tire search to these two. Basically I'm looking for a high performance tire that performs well in both wet + dry and has a long treadlife.

Originally I was thinking about getting the 750s, but after reading several reviews and looking at the surveys on Tirerack, I got the impression that the 960 all-seasons perform better in slick conditions and have a longer treadlife. As a recent college grad, I don't have alot of money to be throwing around, so I'm wondering if that's really the case and if not, if I should just go with the cheaper 750's. I live in LA, so snow driveability is not a factor.

From what I can tell, re750 better in dry and decent in wet vs re960a/s better in wet and decent in dry with the re960a/s lasting you a bit longer if not abused. But then tires meant to grip more in dry conditions are always going to have a shorter tread life then the tires meant for wet. Go for the 960s if you're that worried about the wet. I think they'll both perform well.

OP, get the 750, if you don't need to worry about occasional snow traction.

Both are awesome tires, I believe there is a new design, the RE760 due out soon. I'd expect it to replace the RE750, but I don't know 100% for sure if it will. The 960AS will give a much smoother and quieter ride and sacrifice almost nothing in performance while being better in the wet and last longer. The RE750 is definitely more performance based. If you are just using your car as a DD, I'd go for the RE960. If you do more spirited driving with the occasional canyon run or something, I'd go for the RE750.

I have a set of RE960AS Pole Position on my 350Z and I am very happy with them. I cant give you much on the tread life because I only have about 4K miles on them. I can tell you they are great on dry and just as great in the wet.
