So I decided to just plain ol' go for a drive today since I hadn't done it in a while, and I drove up a pretty steep mountain road that leads to Foothills Parkway in the Smokies. The road I took was Montvale up the mountain and Flatts Road to Butterfly Gap Road.

I took this because my roommate had told me what a crazy biking trip is was, as he has done it a few times. I have yet to bike it, but the car was definitely getting a workout. I like the hill climb, but nothing beats the downhill portion as Flatts Road becomes Butterfly Gap.

Thought I'd share. Probably just a slight warm up for a Dragon run that I see sometime in my future:alright

Damn you were that close to the Dragon and didn't go stretch your cars legs out on it?

Honestly, I figured that I was near the dragon, but didn't realize how close I actually was until I checked it out on a map. I would've kept on if not for the somewhat limited time that I had that afternoon.

As for the map:

go to Google Maps, and type the following:

from: montvale station rd, maryville tn to:Flats Rd @35.640034, -83.922024 to: wilkinson pike maryville tn

This will give you 95% of the complete loop starting from highway 336 in Maryville. I couldn't finish the loop and give you inputs because I couldn't get Google to vomit the proper route back out.

I trust that you can figure the rest out by looking at the map ;)
