View Full Version : e46 wheels on an e36 tylerboze 02-02-2008, 06:10 PM Are these compatible on an e36? http://pensacola.craigslist.org/pts/515084359.html Aerick 02-02-2008, 07:48 PM Fronts will fit, but rears won't. E36Elitist 02-03-2008, 05:03 PM get the set, sell the rears, acquire another pair of fronts and you're golden kingA 02-03-2008, 05:09 PM those are nice on the E36 seen a lot them around tylerboze 02-03-2008, 08:56 PM what is different about the rears that make them not fit? M62pwrdE38 02-03-2008, 09:20 PM Offset is too low. tylerboze 02-03-2008, 10:03 PM could i make them fit with a spacer? M62pwrdE38 02-03-2008, 10:09 PM That would just make it worse. tylerboze 02-03-2008, 10:27 PM anybody else? Aerick 02-03-2008, 11:06 PM What part of 'won't fit' do you not understand? The offset is too low, so the rears stick out far enough to rub the fender. Rolling your fenders won't be enough either. If you want these wheels, look for four fronts or get replicas. tylerboze 02-03-2008, 11:18 PM wow. you're a smart cookie.:confused just trying to get a second opinion. M62pwrdE38 02-03-2008, 11:52 PM You realize a spacer is essentially the same as making the wheel offset even lower right? The lower the offset the further the wheel sticks out. The offset is already too low to fit, adding a spacer makes the offset lower and the wheel stick out even further, so that's only going to make it even worse. You might be able to get them to fit with a lift kit, that's about it. E36Elitist 02-04-2008, 02:25 PM wow. you're a smart cookie.:confused just trying to get a second opinion. and so are you, bro. There is no opinion in this thread, they will not fit an E36 in the rear. It's physically impossible, unless you want to tear up tires and body panels. E36Elitist 02-06-2008, 01:54 PM hey guy, don't email me and harass me again just because you didn't like the answer... I've owned several BMWs in the past, so do not question why I'm here and not a Honda board again. |
