View Full Version : E24s on Throwing Stars and ACS Type IIIs?
Auraraptor 02-02-2008, 07:46 AM I was wondering if anyone had pictures of E24s on either throwing stars or Type III Schnitzers (17in)?
I would love to see how each would look. I used to run OE 16in Alpina-esque E38 750 Multi spokes with spacers. I want to look into something new.

Auraraptor 02-02-2008, 03:15 PM In aside, the proper throwing stars for the E24 are the ones that were designed for the E31. The others have either an improper offset, hub diameter, or both.

think 2's would look best
e24mpwr 02-02-2008, 04:19 PM This is me in Dan Erwin's M635 w/ Breyton Inspirations, which are similar to the ACS TIII's... (sorta..)

Auraraptor 02-02-2008, 06:26 PM I always thought they looked like Type IIIs but with dish and 'wavy' spokes. (Or if you rather, Type IIIs look like Breytons but without dish and straighter spokes).
Each his own, I like the aggressive look (and light construction) of the Type III.

Offset appears to be that off of the 5 series.

And they are getting very hard to come by.
Personally, I like the E31 Style 8 the best on E24. They look like they were made for the original king shark e24, not shark#2 aka E31.

bmwrep 02-25-2008, 08:33 PM Hi Koizuma,
I have a question about the wheels on the car in the top picture. I really like the way they look. Now, the question, and I know it gets asked way too many times....will it fit, but here goes....
I have an 84 633csi with the stock 14" wheels. I'm the internet manager for a BMW Center in lower Alabama and one of our wholesalers told me he has some wheels/tires that he thought would fit my car he would trade me for some that came off my sons 01 330i that I was told would not fit. The wheels he has looks like the ones in that top picture and are off a 98-99 5 Series. I seem to remember reading a post a month or so back that dealt with this very same question and I spent several hours last night going as far back as I could with old posts and couldn't find it. Do you think the wheels from a 5 will fit a 6? Thanks in advance if you or someone else can answer this.

Any wheels from a 5 series will fit a 6 series. If they are from a '98/'99 (or the other E39 years: 1996-2003) 5-series, they'll only require a set of hubcentric rings ($20 for a set of 4) to correct the center bore.
82bmw633 02-25-2008, 09:23 PM 1982 633 with 16" Fittipaldi's. Can't find these anymore. But they were free and look better than the 14" basketweaves.
