Just boost your motor. Its built better then the M motors for boost applications. All the American M motors are is a bored out 2.8

.........Id rather start with a motor with more horsepower stock.....also the S52 boost applications information etc has alot more out there already....

if i dont get a 330ci this weekend ill pm you. but imo you should just clean up your car and sell it for 7 or 8 then spend another 7 or 8 ,that you would on the engine swap, on an m3. just seems like it would be more reliable and less stuff to worry about.

Actually Im spending much less than 7 on a engine AND tranny swap....thats including labor.....

Also ive invested to much in my car already....fresh pain job.....have a wing and E36 bumper splitter waiting to be put on.....C/O's intake exhaust.....head unit....speakers.....rims tires.....tint....Led bulbs.....Clear corners etc......and to find a low mileage car/ swap like mine is near hard.......

yea i understand what your saying but it just seems like you have a mint super low mile 328 that you could easily get your asking price for and you want to chop it up. more than half those things you listed could be transferd onto an m3. i bet you could sell your car for 10 especially with a new paint job

Yeah but Ill get the same power, for less than getting a used M3.....esp with a paint job thats not as nice....have to get a new Suspension system....get rear camber arms again and bushings.....etc....If I can spend less and swap what I need.....I want to do so plus not have to repaint the new car...

Might be a little too far south for you, but give Mike Robinson a call at Sports and Imports in Chesapeake VA. He always has a line on cars and parts, quite a bit of stuff on hand too. He may be able to point you in the right direction.

Your car is autotragic? Here's the perfect swap donor:

Plenty there to part out and make some money back...

Sorry, I got confused about what you were trying to do exactly. It was late, I apologize.

So is your car already manual, or are you trying to turn an automatic 328 into a manual S52 powered car?

I see the list above of why you want to keep your own car:

"fresh pain job.....have a wing and E36 bumper splitter waiting to be put on.....C/O's intake exhaust.....head unit....speakers.....rims tires.....tint....Led bulbs.....Clear corners etc......"

...but other than the paintjob, all that stuff could be swapped onto another car in an afternoon.

So if you bought a suitable M3 that didn't need a paintjob, swapped all your stuff over, then sold your old car... you'd be set. You'd also save lots of time and money. Right?

Trying to help,

Jon

Easy solution = Sell you car, get an M3. It's cost and time efficient.

Exactly. Put your car back to stock, sell the mods, you could probably get ~8K if it is in at all reasonable shape. There are GREAT E36 Ms going for $12-13, and good examples at $10.

how much are you looking to spend and what exaclty are you looking for as far as damage goes

This whole swapping business is silly. You'll go to sell the car someday and it will be worth less than the 328 you started with.

Just part out the mods, sell the car, and buy an M3.

+1 on selling it and buying another car. Don't throw away money (unless you throw it in my direction...)!

:confused cardcounter hit 600whp'ish stock internals on his 2.8 ... ur motor is better for boost

buying a s50/s52 would be a waste.. just manual swap, turbo bam power
