so yea...i may be purchasing some bbs rs the rears were i think originaly 16x8 et24 and have had the barrels swapped to make them 16x10 ...how hard will it be to fit these? I have fenders rolled and very slightly flared but im guessing my inner wheel wells will be the problem? Ill be running 3 degrees neg camber. Ill need to take a sledge hammer to my inner wheel wells huh lol? Oh and i plan on running stretched tires but im not sure what would be a moderate stretch(nothing too crazy) on a 10 inch wheel

oh yea e36 m3 and i have coilovers.

Before even getting into stretching tires and rolling fenders, you need to slap them on and see about brake clearance. Some 16's clear M3 brakes, some don't.

First of all, you need to figure out the offset of the wheels. Because if they swapped out the barrels to get 16x10 then your offset will increase by about 13mms. Find out what has been done.

bringing this one back here... I'm kind of in the same boat. I have the opportunity to purchase 2 rs061's which are 16x8 et20 and 2 rs022's which are 16x9 et24. I know they are 16's, but I would be getting a killer deal on them if I were to go thru with the purchase. Right now I'm on the stock suspension, but plan on upgrading to, most likely, bilsteins/h&r race springs and will roll the fenders in the near future. Would it be possible to fit these on a 95 m3 even though the offsets are quite low? Or would I be wasting my time?

Also, I noticed wtfzoo wanted to increase the width with new barrels. For me 9 inches is wide enough (for now), but is it possible with these wheels to keep a 16inch face and increase the diameter of the barrels to 17's so overall the wheel becomes a 17? I think I've heard of this being done before.

Thanks in advance.

^^

@ 16" 9J ET 24 should be no problem. Just don't fit a balloon tyre on them.

The 16" won't have a 16" face, so you can't keep the "16"" face, but you can keep the face from the 16" and make them 17", but the centers will look really small.

I'm waiting my arrival of a set with 9J ET26 (17"). I'm gonna run a good stretch which as Claus told me should fit with no problems (although I doubt that).

Thanks for the response. Yeah you're definitely right about the face appearing small because I forgot that even though the rim is considered a 16, the face will still be ~15. And to put a 17in barrel on a 15in face would look awkward.

I wonder if I get these wheels and clean them up nice...Claus will work with me on a trade in or something...Have you heard of him doing something like that? I know the demand for the RS's is out there.

...And my car is only a 328i, with smaller brakes than your M3.

Only a 328i? Nothing wrong with, specially considering US M3's have the nearly the same engine.

Anyways, good point on the brakes, although a few weeks ago I found some pics on this forum of an Estoril M3 with 16'' RS's.

Perhaps US M3's have different brakes? I know Euro M3's are larger than our 328's.

16x8 ET11 and you needed a flare? Hmm.

Well I guess I forgot there's two ways of lowering ET. Either put a bigger lip in it, or decrease the barrel's width. (change backspacing correct?)

Thanks for the info guys. I emailed Claus and he said that he does do trade-in's, but in the end its just too expensive to ship wheels overseas. It was something like 250 euros which = lots of US dollars. I think I'm going to wait this one out and look for some 17's so I can avoid brake issues in the future.

Digitalwave, your car pulls off those 16's brilliantly by the way!
