this is an awesome set ( front diff, rear diff) off of a 2003 x5 3.0 ....60,000 miles ....

great upgrade for any one with 4.4 ,4.6 or 4.8 which came with 3.64 factory

gives that little umpfffhhh off the line where you need to get the big SAV moving....

It won't work in the 4.6is and the 4.8is because the diff case is bigger the 4.4i I dunno but I would assume that it is the same diff case due to the 4.4 V8
