Wrong, Detective Jerkoff. :mad Ever read the Forum rules about not flaming in Sales threads? Might help your Deputy Dawg brain act more respectfully to other Bimmerforums members. :nono

Flaming and name calling too? Perhaps you've broken more forum rules than I have. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but the descriptions are close to identical and relatively geographically close. Nice way to show your true colors too.

Get over yourself and best of luck with the sale.

I think it's just the porschepenisenvy getting to him. To the OP, get some pix of the car up.

My objections to people who make comments about items listed here in For Sales threads is that it's presumptious and rude to the poster. My experience in buying parts or even cars from Bimmerforums members is that without exception members have been ethical and fair. Why MAKE comments about cars if you have no intent to consider a purchase?? :eyecrazy Regarding Porsches: no envy at all, I've helped numerous wannabe drivers learn driving skills on track to cope with the whacky suspension geometry of the anvil hung off the rear 911s. :shifty Price lowered to $8500. Pics are available in the following thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=103676 Thanks.

My apologies, Mr. Irish, if you felt I was rude. Bimmerforums is a community, and as such, I believe we tend to watch out for each other when we read something online that doesn't seem quite right. If you're a regular reader of the for sale forums on this (and other) BMW boards, you'd have to agree that my comment was mild in comparison to comments from others.

Readers of several other E30 forums are probably aware of a recent situation where a beautiful car was purchased for the sole reason of 'flipping' it for a profit. The person involved wasn't astute enough to even try and sell the car in a separate forum from where it was originally advertised. He suffered the online version of a 'tar and feather'. It is the memory of that series of posts that prompted my comment.

Your reaction, however, was rather defensive. Again, if I was wrong, you are welcome to point out the facts. If I'm right, you might further your cause by admitting that the car was recently purchased, itemize the improvements you've made and, perhaps, offer an explanation of why you can't keep it.

The presumption, Mr. Irish, is yours if you believe that someone wouldn't see both ads, and make what appears to be a logical conclusion - simply that you're attempting to do the same thing as the gentleman mentioned above.

Again, good luck with the sale. It does indeed appear to be a beautiful car.

Regards,
Detective JO

Nothing wrong with that, it's a capitalistic society with free economy.

Maybe under communism, it is frowned upon, but if McDonald's can buy raw materials for 9 cents and charge 99 cents for a cheesburger, I hardly see any reason for so many people to get their panties in a bunch if some guy makes a few hundred on a car.

Having to deal with Internet "Detectives" like yourself with too much free time on their hands, I'd say those flipping cars have to earn every penny of that pitiful profit, and trust me, any money made on flipping a car is pitifully small, in most cases.

My advice? Don't be jealous of people making money. Just use it for your own motivation, channel it creatively instead. If you knew what happens at upper echelons of society with real estate and even small countries, this would pale in comparison.

:)

BTW, a seller is free to set any price he chooses. It is the buyer's prerogative to reject it and move on.

I'm not selling this Cabrio to make money, though when I bought it I believed as the last E30 series car imported into the USA it might some potential for that five or ten years down the road. I'm simply trying to recoup my costs, and offering a great car to a like-minded community. I also bought the car with the idea my elder neighbor might want it, because he'd been looking for a fun & reliable car that has some snazz quotient. As it turns out getting in & out of it is too difficult. I DO question people posting queries about a car's providence and questioning the honor of people who have cars or parts for sale. The arrogance in the post by David55838 is appalling and narcissistic. People interested in a possible purchase are invited to ask questions, but I don't have any interest in answering questions about my motives from someone who suggests I'm acting dishonorably. The buyer and seller negotiate the deal and set the price. Read my ITrader rating statement here, or check out my E-Bay scores: over 600 deals with nary a negative comment (w.irish). In my work as an Elder and Child Abuse Investigator I find the same declarative eccentricity: "I was protecting her/him, the community". This forum has always been gracious, open-minded, and generous with advice. Most of the Mods I did on my 95 M3 track car were inspired by smart answers to complicated questions in the Race sections. This is a great car for sale, and whoever decides to buy it will have a great time with it. Cheers

You’re right, they’re may be nothing wrong with that. But go over to several of the E30 sites and do a search on ‘M3Rob’. There’s quite a few folks who disagree. Those posts are pretty entertaining.

I’m not really an Internet detective (I don’t even play one on TV.) I just ran across the ad in the Roundel, and it clicked when I saw this ad.

Your advice? Didn’t ask for it – and I’m not jealous about anyone making money. How do you know what I know or don’t know about ‘upper echelons’ in real estate? And I’d venture to say you have at least as much free time as I do. You’re posting here too, eh?

Mr. Irish, my apologies to you. You do seem honorable and I’m sure the car is as you describe. But I would suggest you look in the mirror as far as the narcissistic bit goes. You spend considerable space here talking about your track prowess and good works. And you initial response to my first post could be classified as 'appalling'.

Again, good luck with sale and free bump. Over and out.

This For Sale thread has been shredded because of interference from parties not interested in considering purchase of the car. It's a great car: asking price reduced to $8500.00 or best offer. Thanks for the interest to persons who've asked for more information on this car. :)

The 93 Cabrio is on a transport truck right now on it's way to Monterey, California. It's still for sale, but since I'm moving West at the end of next week I decided to get it on the road to my new home. :D Still haven't had a concrete offer. :shifty

Here's a link to pics in the R3VLimited thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=103676 I'm sorry, I'm a bit of a dingbat in shooting and posting pics digitally. Ask me how to get a 95 M3 that's camber-challenged to stop pushing in tight corners and I can do that with no problem. Cell phones perplex me, digital cammeras flummox me. Stone-Age frontal lobe problems I reckon. :help

damn dude, that's a nice ride. I looked for many moons for a clean E30 convertible... alas, I bought an E36 'vert, sold for a Miata, and am now in the market for an E36M3. Where were you three years ago? That's a sweet car, and a fair price considering the recent investments... the economy is killing the used car market right now.
