Is anyone using their X5 to tow a trailer? I'm considering selling my M3 and my F250 to buy a new 4.4L X5. I need to tow a 6x12 enclosed motocycle trailer on the weekends (single axle, v-nose, not over 3,500lbs loaded). I know that the x5 has the power since I used to haul the trailer with an F150 4.6L (225hp). I'm more concerned with stopping and drivabillity? Any one out there that has pulled a trailer, please let me know what you think.

X5 can tow roughly about 3tons...so I think you should be fine if the load is properly distributed and you dont push the engine too hard...
my dad was looking into towing a 3,500lb boat last summer, but the boat wasn't practicle for us...

I'm gonna have to mull this one over:95 Right now I have the best of both worlds, a great car and a great truck. If I go with the X5, I think I'm going to be compromising my fun driving and my ability to tow. Then again, if I move into town into a condo, then it's not practical to have two vehicles.

Yeah, you're kind of stuck between two good things...you can't go wrong either way though :)

You can tow up 7000lb's on the x5 so 3500 is nothing just make sure u get the airsuspension it helps for towing. I like driving level not looking at the sky :).

word. airsuspension will help out a lot...plus it should make the tow a lot easier on the engine and susp.
