So my heater core needs replacing in my car. I don't have the time or the money to fix it right now, so I bought a 12v portible heater that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I plugged it in yesterday and drove for about 25 minutes with it, and it wasn't so bad. Suddenly, it just stopped working. I popped the hood to check the fuse and surely enough the fuse was out. I replaced the fuse and it popped instantly.
Now, every time I put a new fuse into the slot, it pops immediately, even if the car is off and nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighter.
Suggestions??
Thanks!

Siggy is a permanent live. Doesn't sound good. You have a short somewhere.

You can say that again. It's simply one damn thing after another.
I finally found someone who seems serious enough to buy the car this weekend, but then again, everyone always seems like a "serious buyer" and then they either just disappear or totally flake out on me. I've already had countless "serious buyers" that SWEAR they love the car and will return with the money tomorrow and then just.....gone.
So now I have a short in my car. WTF do I do now??

Electrical gremlins are the worst. The thing I'm worst at for sure!
I would check underneath to see if maybe the 2 wires have come off the socket or one touching the other.

Checked. Obviously, it's not going to be that easy...
