Driver's seatbelt doesn't retract well anymore -- I have to coax it back in. Do I have to replace the entire mechanism, sealtbelt and all? :rolleyes
Or is there a spring or coil inside that can be replaced? And is this a DIY job or should I go to my mechanic, since it's a safety item?
Thanks.

I have seen seat belt parts on Pelican parts. I think it is a replacement belt and spool.
Mine are kind of slow to retract.

Same here. When I installed a new speaker and had the rear drivers side panel off, the belt went back fine. WIth the panel back in place, slow retraction. I believe it pinches slightly just enough to stop the belt. You can do it yourself but again, what needs to be replaced? Just the spool or what?

Bump. Anyone know if there's a writeup on this or something somewhere? What all is involved in replacing a belt completely?
