wow... that seems like a ridiculous deal. If only I knew more about turbos and could do the work myself I would have bought it in a heartbeat

looks like the TT cartech setup. I think "thespeedfactory" is running this manifold. I don't see anything wrong other than obvious age and bad color choice.

I came close to buying this kit from Rob a few years ago. The plan at that point was to use an RRFPR (hah).

Needless to say, I was going to spend much more than the BIN. If you want two turbos, I would call it a deal. A couple of people have used these kits, maybe they'll chime in.

It's always a really good idea to have some sort of knowledge about an item prior to recommending it for purchase. :confused

How many of the people who recommended this product know anything about it?

I have owned 3 of 9 Cartech TT kits. Yes, there were only nine produced.

The Rotomaster turbos are either too big or just such an old design that the system is extremely laggy.

We put 46k miles on twins in Sweeney's 635csi. It made 315rwhp/364tq at 15psi but they just took forwver to spool. Sweeney made new and larger downpipes and the exhaust was properly sized. It just doesn't spool very well.

That's the good news.

It's a packaging nightmare. that's the bad news.

At this point they are purely nostalgic. Is Robs' kit worth $800? Absolutley if you want twins and that is your top priority.

I have a complete system with the water/air intercooler sitting on the shelf in the shop. Tried selling it on ebay last year.

He turned it upside down and blocked off the rear turbo flange and runs t as a top mount single.

TT FTL The turbos have to be wicked small and the piping is a royal pain.

Single FTW I have a Corky Bell TT manifold that I have plagted off to run top mount single turbo. I will post pics thisw weekend in a for sale thread.

If anyone is interested I will be selling my kit this weekend. PM and you can have first dibs.

which turbos were on the cartech? Rotomaster?? (neverheard of them???) what "standard" flange type did the manifold/wg use?

I could see a couple of 13g or t25 working Very well as TTs.

I've always wanted to do an evo8 twinscroll after flipping the manifolds on the m50. No $$$ though.

wow. cool looking. With additional injector boss and everything. looks like it will just bolt in. from what I see. It is missing:
WasteGate
Compress bypass valve.
Additional Injector controller
all the oil line and possible cooling line if it has water cooled cartridge.
bolts and studs.
high pressure fuel pump.
fuel lines and tee to supply injectors.

Lots of missing parts. Only a Turbo Veteran will be able to piece this system together.

Not an Intercooled system. I guess it depends on the additional injector to cool the charged air. It looks like they did a twin system just so they can say Twin turbo. a Single turbo would have been enough. cool package tho.

I had a cartech turbo kit on my 87 RX7. it is fun stuff.

Rotomaster are old T04s. It doesnt have ball bearing technology yet so it will spool slower than modern turbos.

It's missing the intercooler. These rotomasters are T3 size.
