View Full Version : WoW! These front airdams go high on ebay
Seeker 01-29-2008, 01:07 PM I'm shocked someone would pay close to 300+ shipped for a scratched up airdam w/out fogs and brackets.

doesnt BavAuto have a new one for 500ish?
I need one, but figure I might as well get a new one at the going rate for an example like that used one.

87M6 Chris 01-29-2008, 05:28 PM My max was $250 for that air dam and I was the ONLY bidder for 6days, then Mr. money bags swoops in at the last min. aaaaggggh! My air dam has a pretty pronounced warp in it but now I think I will try to rig up some kind of harness hold it back in shape and try the heat gun on it.

Whether or not 'Mr Money bags' jumped in or not. You have to remember a few things about e-bay these days.
#1 Sniping programs--allow bids within seconds of closure so you cant possibly out bid them.
#2 Some people are willing to pay a high price for an item.
Advise- Set your limit, place a small bid a day or so before closure (so that you are registered), place you big bid less than a minute before closure.
Other option-buy a sniping program.
As they say--Good luck!!
Oh and by the way--I jump in at the last minute, it's the only way I have found to survive.

I was quoted almost $700.00 for my 89 "world spoiler" I won't pay that much and won't pay more then one to one fifty used, it still needs to be shipped, repaired and painted. I repaired the one I have :D
Seeker 02-11-2008, 04:05 PM hmmmm...
it got relisted.

87M6 Chris 02-11-2008, 07:34 PM Yeah, I was talking to the seller, the high bidder never contacted him. He offered it to me since I was no2 but I passed. I just welded up a small brace to bring the curled lip of my chin spoiler back into line, works pretty well, alot cheaper than $250+ $200 shipping+$200-250 for filling, sanding and paint.
freedomgli 02-12-2008, 12:45 PM #1 Sniping programs--allow bids within seconds of closure so you cant possibly out bid them.
That is incorrect. All the sniping service does is place the bid on your behalf. If your maximum bid is higher than the other person you will win. eBay works on an a principle called proxy bidding. Set your maximum bid (whether entering the bid manually or using a sniping service) and let the chips fall where they may. Sniping helps prevents other users from continually changing their mind and incrementally increasing their maximum bid, which drives the price up. When I'm playing poker I don't show my cards until the end. If you tip your hand other people may use that to their advantage.
BimmerFreak 02-14-2008, 03:12 PM The dealer down in Huntsville had 6 of them available.
I think the CCA price to me was under 4 bills.

and I bet that don't include the mounting brackets, which I need.
I dunno if that one on ebay would do me anygood.. the rigged up brackets look flimsy
PRJKTGRMN 02-15-2008, 01:41 AM i paid $400 for my eurobumper with spoiler AND brackets -- spoiler needs to be painted and i still have yet to mount it, but overall i think i got a good deal off ebay
