View Full Version : Wagons!
malore 01-29-2008, 12:43 AM Currently driving a 2006 Audi A4 Avant with about $4k in mods.
I've always loved the Audi wagons more than the BMW wagons, however, the new 328i(xi) sport wagons look good!
Has anyone around here done the necessary modifications it takes to make them look GREAT?
I'd love to see some pictures as I'm toying with the idea of switching to BMW...if they put the 335 3.0 liter in of course ;-).
Let me see those wagons people!!!
Thanks a lot in advance.
malore 01-29-2008, 06:46 AM Nothing? Nobody?
It's cause I'm an Audi driver huh?
There has to be some beautiful wagons out there.
Would it help if I mentioned that there is a 335xi, the new 535xi sports wagon, a 645ci, an M1 hiding out somewhere, and a 1928 Dixie scattered about my family?
I'm not a BMW hater just cause I drive an Audi...I'm a BMW lover. So please, show me your wagons.
Thanks!
Beer Goggles 01-29-2008, 01:02 PM not too many wagon drivers on here. I like the a4 avant better but audi service is the worst. And I have owned one b6, and own vws. We used to have a jetta wagon which was pretty rare. MT sport leather and turbo. Once our lease is up on our truck its back to a wagon
mryakan 01-29-2008, 02:21 PM What did people with large families use to drive before minivans came around in the early 80s and SUVs in the early 90s!!!! I would personally rather be in a hearse than a minivan and don't get me started in SUVs. Those 2 I only use as rentals when going on long trips, no need for them on a day to day basis for most people IMO. Take a look at Europeans if you have doubts. I do have 2 kids and I take my kid soccer along with his little brother and his stroller, and I also coach soccer and carry all equipment in my car (nets, balls, flags, the works), you can fit a lot in a modern sedan. All I needed was a trunk mat to keep the trunk floor clean.

How many months of outdoor soccer do you get there? We have an 7.5 month season here which is not bad.

That is great infact, we only get 4 to 5 months depending on the league. Usually the city won't allow us on the fields until mid May, some leagues don't start till 1st week of July and most end by labor day. One of the rec leagues I play in though lasts till early Nov. Yeah it sucks to be here. I used to play 9-11 months out of the year in my highschool/university days.
ChitownIrish 01-29-2008, 03:53 PM I might had been tempted if BMW had a 335i wagon but I am very happy with what I got.
If you want the ultimate wagon check out Edmund's first-drive review of the 2008 Audi RS6 Avant featuring a new 580-hp twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V10.

zoink 01-30-2008, 12:49 PM I have a 535xi wagon... but pretty much 100% stock. Don't see a need for cosmetic mods on this car (well, any cars for me)... even if I do later, most likely just wheels. But that will happen after I put some engine mods first :D
mgthompson 01-30-2008, 01:55 PM The BMW parts manuals list accessories for a 328xi wagon with and without the aerodynamic package. An aerodynamic package might trick it up a bit. About the only thing we will do to our 328xi wagon is install mud flaps. It is a really great looking car as it is.
If you want a really great looking wagon get the M5 version!
Beer Goggles 01-30-2008, 02:46 PM If you go to E90post there are some nice wagons over there. Wheels make the car, the crappy base wheels on any wagon make people not like them. They need a "sport" version of the 328 (make it a 335) to get some "enthusiast" interest.
