I'm looking for an E36 M3 Coupe w/o sunroof.

I plan to use the car primarily for HPDE's, and being 6'5" I need all the headroom I can get. I'm not overly concerned with cosmetics, but it does need to be well maintained.

Willing to travel to pick up the right car.

Thanks!

No one?

I don't see even one listed on here or Autotrader...anyone know how many were made?

Is it hopeless to try to find one?

You're not hopeless, but it's not an everyday find. For example, I have a 95 M3 non-sunroof and cloth with 76k on it, in impeccable condition.

What's your budget?

Good luck, may be better off taking out the sunroof cassette, suspending and sealing the actual roof and then ordering a non sunroof headliner from BMW. This is the way I went when stripped my M3. The reduction of weight up top did really make a difference. Good luck.

VERY tough to find but I have owned 2 of them. I currently have one in my possession.

As previously stated, what is your budget?

If you decide to put an aftermarket seat in, you can fit in one with a sunroof and helmet on. I am 6'7 and had to do just that.

Thanks. My E46 doesn't have a sunroof, but I ordered it that way. I've got at least two extra inches of room between that and the manual seat.

I'd rather not spend more than $13k. That seems to be about what a 90k+ mile E36 that has been well maintained is going for.

My thinking is that I'll eventually put in a rear cage and aftermarket seat, so eventually the sunroof will become less of an issue.

I'd just like some space for my brain bucket in the meantime, assuming it eventually becomes more or less of a track car only.

Thanks for your input, guys! :)

I guess they're hard for me to find, at least, although I've only been looking for a couple weeks.

The two you looked at last weekend were for sale?
