I have a 2000 528iT.

I don't know if I had pressed something to program my car to lock by itself within 30 seconds? Once the car would look, the dome lights would turn on for a bit and dime off and it would keep repeating over and over again. I have tried to unlock the car with the car key remote, but no luck. The only way to unlock the car is to physically put the key in th key hole and turn it to the left. Doing so, you are suppose to hear the regular beep when the car unlocks, but I get some other kind of beeps and the car relocks itself.

Have anyone one of you members have experience this before?

Thanks in advance guys.

Yea, hope the car gets over it and resets or something.

Those are 4x100 with et0, getting it to poke out a bit.

Update,

So, when I got home from work I wanted to do a trial and error trouble shooting. I have two extra spare keys. I tried both of them out and low and behold the car locked and unlocked.
MMM, can it be the old key is running out of battery as well.

Another stranger observation with testing out the two spare keys, is when I unlocked the car, the seats moved to different positions on one key and on the other key it moved in to another preset.

Can anyone can enlighten this weired happenings.

Yes, replace the battery. if that doesn't help, then the key (or at least the remote part) is dead.

(Edit: hmmmm.... I see you have a 2000. If your key is diamond shaped with a round middle 'lock' button, you can't replace the battery - it gets recharged whenever it's in the ignition. If it's a rounded square shape with a lock button above the unlock and trunk button that are side-by-side, then you can remove the little strip on the back to access the screws to remove the back cover to replace the battery)

And the seat memory function is turned on so that whenever the car is unlocked with a certain key, the seat and mirrors move back to the same position they were in the last time that particular key was used. (This function is not connected with the seat memory buttons).
