I have the prolumen digital kit. 35w H1's.
Does anyone know what voltage the ballast converts to?
I want to run D2S's and need to know if the ballast will run them. The phillips are 85 Volts.
Anyone want to trade their prolumen D2S 5K's for my practically new H1 5K's?

the ballast operates @ 9-16 volts.
any 35w d2s bulb will do but you will need d2s to amp connectors.
i have couple of prolumen d2s bulbs with less then 2 hours on them you can buy at a discount.
the adapters are $35 a pair.

Have you ever seen a phillips HID bulb powered by the prolumen slim 35w digital kit? If the phillips run at 85V and the ballast operates at 9-16V then wouldn't it not fire all the way. Another member with an E30 said he tried to run the phillips with a non phillips 35w ballast and it never went white. He said it would only fire 3/4 of the way.
Is there much difference in Lumens or light output b/t Prolumen and phillips bulbs?

How many volts does the ballast put out? Did you mean it takes 9-16V or that it puts out 9-16V

philips or any other automotive bulbs run off of 12v or less, i doubt his issue was anything other then faulty ballast/bulb/igniter, i have seen philips bulbs run off many ballast not just prolumen.
an hid ballast can put out up to 25k volts.

BTW, the Phillips are 85V 35W bulbs. I tested the Prolumen 35W slim digital ballast with a home volt meter and they put out 88V. Good to go for Phillips if anyone ever wants to get factory D2S's
