Hi I am new to the forums- about a month ago I bought a 2006 325xi. The car has a remote control key in which I put it in and press the ignition start button for the car to turn on.

A few days ago I was testing stuff out and realized my button worked without the key in the slot; the key was in my hand therefore making me think it was a proximity key. Well I drove it fine and everything was fine. But the next time I tried to do it it did not work. The truth is it turns into a proximity key about half the time I try! Can someone tell me whats going on?
