I had my 2006 325xi in for a new starter motor today and the dealer called me to tell me I need a new oil seperator valve because it was starting to leak or something. I don't completely understand this, but it seems it would have ruined the engine if the oil went where it is not supposed to go. The car only has 18k on it!

Ok Alex. Do you find this surprising? I've since googled and seen reports of Bimmers hydrolocking because of this problem, which is new to me. Thanks.

So Are You Asking If We Are Surprised This Happened At 18k Miles?

Are You Asking If We Are Surprised This Can Cause This Type Of Damage?

The More Clear You Are, The Better Response You Will Get.
