Hello all,

A couple months ago I bought bulbs and tapped my parking light power to get my city lights up and running. I really like the way they look but wish that I could turn them off as they don't match my 5000k HIDs very well.

I am not a complete wiring noob, however I am trying to figure out what additional parts I would need to run them off a switch. My car was not prewired for foglights so they are on an independent switch. Would I just need a simple relay from an autoparts store or radio shack and a toggle switch?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

-matt

all you need is a 12v supply and a switch.

you already have them installed, so find a constant power supply, mount a simple on off toggle switch and connect the wires and you are set

if you are worried about color matching, look into white LED bulbs, they are as close as you can get and look real hawt.

So I just need to buy a switch, run wire to a 12v source to power it and then run another wire to the city light power and I'm good?

that is all, the hardest part might be running the wires and going through the firewall. Once you manage to find a hole or make one in the firewall, just run wires and mount a switch and you are golden

Here is my post about installing my Hella headlights (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=473954). I used the 2 button Euro fog switch to control the Angel eyes.
