I get a loud high pitched squeal when my rpm's get two about 2-3000, I searched for related threads couldn't find any. I am pretty sure this is due to my cigarette lighters not being grounded? If this is the case, anyway I can ground them easily? I'm working with a griffin road trip, it plugs into my cigarette lighter and transmits via FM signal. The noise only happens when this is plugged in. This may not be a bimmer specific question, but figured everyone in here is really knowledgeable in general.

Thanks to all,

-G

It's happened before, most times it is an open ground loop from the cigarette lighter - which is a known "dirty" power source.

A ground loop isolator on the power wire of the lighter can be used. Here is a link to the version we offer on the website:

that's awesome and is exactly what I need, how easy to install?
