View Full Version : AA SC Kit for my 325is
red325bimmer 01-24-2008, 04:26 PM I was looking at the aa sc kit for my 325is and was wondering if the stock tranny with a good clutch will hold up... Also if not what do I go with m3 tranny? If I do go with the m3 tranny what other parts will I need for the M3 tranny to fit my car?
ovlov28 01-24-2008, 04:36 PM stock parts should hold up just fine, an easy upgrade would be M3 clutch, read somewhere that stock M3 clutch is good for 380 lb-ft torque
red325bimmer 01-24-2008, 04:38 PM So I should be good just doing a clutch and keep my stock 325is tranny?

DEFKON99 01-24-2008, 05:56 PM Yep if your goinf to swap trannys your going to need:
ZF Trans
M3 Clutch Kit
not too sure about the driveshaft but should be an easy bolt on.
n24tg 01-24-2008, 06:37 PM Stock clutch will hold 300+whp. Stock trans isnt a problem either.
red325bimmer 01-24-2008, 06:55 PM alright thanks for the input everyone.
Bigsalgt 01-24-2008, 08:38 PM Your OEM transmisson can easily handle the power level that your looking after! Your clutch might be at the mercy of it's age/mileage however even your OEM clutch would be able to handle that increased output.
red325bimmer 01-27-2008, 09:51 PM Just bought new cls rims, cf uuc 3 way adjustable spolier and a rieger cf lip costing me about $1500. will be ordering the sc kit from aa once I get my taxes back =] Want the car tuned and running by april so I can go up to the track.
red325bimmer 01-29-2008, 10:25 PM decided to go with the aa stage 2 c30 kit, which consist of a smaller pulley, better software and a larger intercooler. kit puts out 11psi. Going to be putting my order in for this kit in a few weeks.
n24tg 01-29-2008, 11:15 PM Just throwing it out there...you might want to consider going turbo instead of centrifugal sc. Can put out better numbers for a bit more money.
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 04:37 PM The sc kit is about $4,200 and all the aa turbo kits are like $8,000.

be careful with this "stage 2" kit on the c30.

why do you say that?

Why A/A? TRM has a Stage I turbo kit that will put more RWHP down and is a couple of dollars more then your C-30 kit your looking at! Highly recommend, give it a look!
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 05:06 PM The trm kit is $5,500 unshipped. Also I would still need to order injectors and some type of tuning that would definly put me into the $6,000+ range which would cost me $2,000 more than the AA C-30 Stage 2 kit that will get me around the 300rwhp range.
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 05:08 PM I believe that the aa c30 kit at 11psi will definly give me 300rwhp and the stage 1 trm kit for an extra $2,000 will give me 300-330 rwhp....
Bigsalgt 01-30-2008, 05:40 PM IIRC, the TRM kit includes everything, start to finish! All hardware including tuning! Also, remember long term goals as well. By purchasing the TRM kit alone, in the event of wanting more power, your simply one stage away from going to 300+ RWHP to well over 400+ RWHP. Before deciding, you should contact forum member M3Jasper, the only member on the forum who achieved 500+ RWHP with a centri S/C. He can give you better advice on why to go turbo and not S/C!
325icintn 01-30-2008, 05:54 PM The advertised TRM kit includes tuning? I thought it was hardware only, but I probably misread the website.

Is this a new kit that I do not know about or are you talking about the Stage II C38 kit?
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 06:02 PM Yeah, I didnt think it included tuning or injectors as not stated on the site. Dont really have 5-6 thousand to spend on a kit i have 3700 saved right now considering I just graduated high school and have allready put 8,000 into my car and have only owned it a year and a half.

they dont make a c38 kit for the 325is i was told by aa. They make a c30 kit which is 8psi and this is the upgraded kit(stage2) which is an extra $500-800 i believe and comes with a smaller pulley(11psi), larger intercooler and upgraded software. This kit is not advertised on their site I was told.
325icintn 01-30-2008, 06:09 PM I think you need a m3 bumper for the c30 stage II b/c of the larger intercooler. The pulley is an 85mm.
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 06:22 PM I have a m3 front on my car, yeah the guy from AA told me that.

Priorities man.
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 07:53 PM lol yea i dont want just speed i want my car to look good and clean. my insurence is $6,000 a year and I have to come up with a 20% downpayment once I put my car back on the road march 1st. And have about $1500 in fines to pay. and putting my car back on the road and paying my fines are definly priority right now, so my tax money will pay off my fines and for my downpayment. leaving me with the money I have saved right now about 4000 which is pretty close to how much the sc kit is, so I will probaly just go with the aa sc kit.

Get a civic. Tune the crap out of it. Invest the difference. Buy an m3 for cash when you graduate from college. $500/month before you leave the driveway :eyecrazy
dos Santos 01-30-2008, 08:28 PM uh. wow.
red325bimmer 01-30-2008, 10:06 PM I am not going to college. I went to a vocational school and I do hvac and plumbing so they just send me through their night schooling to get my licenses and what not. Also my insurence is so high because I have about 10 offenses against me and lost my licnese for a year but getting it back march 6th. finally longest year ever.
