ICS has a GT47 under their hood of the bumble bee! How big do you want, anything is possible with money!

It required removing most of the upper portion of their shock tower though lol. I think top mount in an E36 is really a challenge and *gulp* not worth it. Cameron has a top mount PT76GTS but I think he's running a 3" downpipe - is that correct Cam? 3.0 or 3.5" The downpipe is more of an issue than is the turbo size.

Agreed, turbocharger size is one thing, however, having a 5" downpipe like the one fabricated for the Bumble Bee is another! To the O/P, money will be your biggest factor, anything is possible!

^^Nice setup! How much HP are you looking to run? Also, contact HighboostingM3 (Cameron) before purchasing that turbocharger. They were a couple of issues that he discussed regarding spool characteristics etc.

I'll run a euro M50B25tu with a 2,8L stroker kit to get maximum power I can reach.

I don't believe the european M50B25TU is any different than what we have, but I am not sure.

i do not not think it will clear the hood. i wantyed to buy a top mount from 666fab for my s372 and it was 1" to high to clear the hood,he said the biggest you can fit is the gt40

Its your setup, and obviously your choice.. but Cameron has claimed that he reaches full boost ~ 4900 RPM on a 2.9 (?) or 3.0 liter engine. Your 2.8 won't spool very well with that turbo, although it will be fun once it does!

UM / whatever his new tag says is building a 2.5L M50NV with that turbo also, so you can look at his spool time to see if that's something you're interested in.

The other options are build a 3,0L or 3,2L engine from the M50B25tu using other components.

dude ... gt4202 top mount? Not a chance. Not in a stock E36. That has a 5" discharge. You can barely get a 3" downpipe through the E36 bay from the top. Tapering a 5" to 3" (if even possible in the space) would be a waste of a turbo. that turbo is capable of 1000 hp. You don't need that!
