Hi guys,

I'm trying to setup a dyno day at Dyno Pro in denver. We need 5 more people in order to... make it a dyno day. Basically its $50 for half an hour of dyno time. Essentially you can do as many baselines as you like in that time. If you want to tune between runs thats fine aswell as long as it fits in that 30 minutes.

There is no set date for this just yet... basically i need 5 more committed people in order to be able to reserve a day. It will most likely be a weekend in early february.

Ummm.. whatelse :rolleyes ... Dyno Pro is located pretty much where I-25 and I-76 intersect. The shop is equipped with a 2WD DynoJet dynamometer. This isn't a strictly bimmer event... as we don't really have any bimmers signed up yet. :)

Thanks :D

UPDATE 1/24/08

The dyno day at Dyno Pro is scheduled to start Saturday, February 2nd at 11am
It will begin at 11am and end around 5pm. The address for the location is:

6231 Beach St. Unit A
Denver 80221

We will pay individually as our cars go on. Of course we don't have to all have to be there at 11. As you can imagine its kinda hard to book specific time slots since cars will be coming on and going off... some will take longer than others. So unless you have plans that day and can't make until a certain time I would encourage that you show up somewhere around 11.

Quite frankly... i'm excited!

Any questions/concerns, PM me, email me at amaank@gmail.com

Thanks all!

Damn, I wish I could do it. That's a good deal.

Jer? :stickoutt

I'd have to get injectors cleaned and afpr to make it worth doing, not keen on messing with a plastic fuel rail in the cold though...

I'd consider doing this depending on the day. It'd be nice to get an idea of what I'm putting down at altitude.

Let me know.

I am in - and could *easily* get 3 other friends there, no sweat. They've been wanting to do a dyno day.

Shoot me a PM with when you're thinking of doing this, and I'll forward it on to them.

I would be up for this depending on date.

Let us know!

As Chris (fsmtnbiker) may have told you in a PM, I'm in, as well as two other guys with Ford Taurus'... Although I don't know if Pat wants to bring the Taurus or the Dinan 750iL TT.

I am excited as I've been wanting to the get the car on the dyno for some time... It's been awhile since the last dyno. If the work I did was any good, it should better my last dynograph.

I dont want to finish with the lowest numbers and have to buy everyone cheezburgerz. I would go but weather has been too inconsistent and if I dont know the numbers I can still pretend I have a fast car.

I guess I will show up and maybe run my car, but IDK. I think the engine might blow up. Lol

Hopefully he brings the 750.

It would be the least powerful of the 3 cars he'd bring. :)

If the weather doesn't suck, I may come out to visit. Haven't had the car out for about 5 weeks now :(

How many people do we have and what time are people planning on showing?

EDIT: It looks like I'll arrive around 1:00 - 1:30ish... I know my buddy with the Dinan 750iL is planning to arrive around the same time and possibly the other SHO if he doesn't decide to go earlier.

I'd like to be there when more of you guys are going to be there.

sounds like a blast, but between the long drive and the fact that the car already had a dyno session done in its current state and I have all of the results.

Jason,

I'm planning on being there between 11 and 12. Think I'm going to run the Titan and make the quick run home and get the SHO.

I had a good time despite it being a little cold. It was nice to meet some of you guys. All-in-all, I had a good day. I found that my bypass/BOV was opening after 7,000 RPM on my first run. I disconnected the blower side of the valve and it stayed shut. I was hitting about 16 or PSI now and the tune I had was tuned with the pop-off function of the valve working, so I now started losing fuel at about 7,500 RPM. I'm pretty sure that I could gain another 20-30whp after I work on the tune some more.

Anyway, here are my graphs. My best whp was 438whp and best torque was 336wtq:

Jason - Nice numbers mang! Now lets go get some race gas and make biiiiig numbers. :)

David - Heard about your little mishap, hope everything went back together OK. What kind of numbers did you see? How's the AFR look? It was nice meeting you yesterday!

Pat's 750il made 425whp and 520 wtq. :wow

Hey Chris- It was good to meet you too! Hopefully your interior project went smoothly. Everything went back together just fine for me, I just had to stop a few times on the way home to do a quickie (i.e. incomplete) bleed so that I could make it back without overheating. I'm back now though, and the car is fine. Damn hose... funny thing is, I'd even checked that it was on and torqued all the way a day or two before too :dunno .

The car didn't see the numbers I'd hoped for, but it did alright. I'm going to post a new thread for feedback on it, so I'll put the link up in here so you can see the afr's for yourself :). It seems to be a bit off, but I'm no expert and I hate making assumptions. It made 187.9/167.2. I was hoping for 200 rwhp... :(.

Here ya go. Please get your input in for me so I know where to start! I'd love some input on why you think the way you do on certain aspects of the graph/car too!

It was good to meet all of you today. You guys have some sick cars. I'll have to stick to the road courses and leave the strip to all of you. Sorry about the mess.

Ha... My car IS setup for the road course :-) My brakes are almost as big as your wheel were :) http://youtube.com/watch?v=lQunI0q5zLg (1:55)

Glad you made it back okay. I saw you pulled over near I-70 picking up some snow... Where you using that for your water or icing down the engine?

Even better!!! I figured since you knew Chris that you wouldn't be on the strip, but with that much power I wouldn't have been surprised :buttrock. I turned when you honked just in time to see that it was you, just so you know I wasn't being snobby :). I was using the ice on the engine to cool it off since it went over normal operating temp and I was afraid of it overheating; it REALLY didn't like the tap water we had to use temporarily. It's good now, but I'm going to give it a full system flush soon and get BMW coolant back in it (had to use Prestone). I might have to check my thermostat too, it was acting up on me on the drive home and could possibly explain how I got so much pressure built up on that hose!

edit: BTW, the wheels are just for winter... My summers are sitting nice and cozy in the garage until it warms up and the roads are consistently clear again. Take a look in my signature picture so you can see what they normally look like.

edit 02-04-08: upon further inspection, I found that the radiator neck broke and that the hose was only connected when I hastily reattached it to about 1/8" of plastic. Looks like I'll be getting a new radiator... at least it's still functional for the next few days (knock on wood).
