Does anyone have a snapshot of a 2002 or so X5 with an aftermarket hitch? If an aftermarket hitch is installed and only to be used for a bike rack, is there any modifications to the vehicle that need to be done. Found a Hidden Hitch (Part#87405), but can't tell how ugly this thing will look. Hoping it doesn't hang below the bumper. Or what other alternatives are there other than the dealer? A roof rack is not an option.

if you are only using it for a bike, then you can get an aftermarket one (the Hidden Hitch will be ok). If you are going to tow, you need the OE one (due to the unibody design of the car). And that is EXPENSIVE. I just had to put one on my X5.
