Who does ECU flashing. I do not want to go with Dinan. I just need it flashed for exhaust and intake mods.
thanks

whats wrong with Dinan. BMW accepts their stuff as a non warranty killer so they must be doing a decent job.

+1...Dinan has a reputation for reliability. Why are you avoiding them?

It's just me I guess. Here maybe one reason why. I also have a Ford F250 2006 Power stroke Diesel. I have a intake turbo back exhaust and a SCT. (flash programmer) I got the SCT from SCT with some tunes (ie 3 flashes in it) I tired them out and it was good. Then I got some new tunes form some other places. MAY god my truck all 8000 lbs of it would run a 13.9 in the 1/4 mile. It made 423 WHP and 698 ftlbs. The tunes form SCT did not run as strong as these other tunes. And these high Horse power tunes are actually safe too. So I kinda shy away form generic tuners. But if you guys really like them then maybe I will go with them.

This is a BMW not a Powerstroke. My 3 year old could develop a tune for that engine that wouldn't hurt it(if its not clear im saying its a great solid engine that is really easy to jigger with) A 540 is another kind of beast all together, if you put in the wrong air filter it will hickup. For this I would stick with Dinan as these engines are already highly tuned you just wont see the kind of gains you saw with the ford.

I understand the apple to Hell that isn't even a orange! what you are saying there. But I do not think that your 3 year old could write a tune nor could you. I can not write one for the PSD and I tune DSM's,Supra's and Hondas via AEM and Haltechs and Altronic's. Diesel is a whole different animal.
So I guys it is Dinan then. Thanks.

I was of course not being literal. My point was that those Powerstrokes have a massive amount of flexablility in their programming and the engines are damn near bullet proof. Any average joe tuner can tweak around and get more performance out of them without really hurting anything, but it takes a true master to make them really roar(and boy can they roar) The 540 is not nearly so flexible nor forgiving. one little screw up and you could do real damage to that engine, not something for average joes to try unless they have a big bankroll.

+1. american motors are built very well but have a lot of room for improvement with little $$$. dinan is a great product and will give better efficiency with realistic gains. nothing crazy but it will work with no issues.

Gotca. I could not agree with you more there!
Thanks for the input and it helped to put my post cunt up enough to post links and pics!
