Is there an update or upgrade for my 2000 740IL navigation system?

It seems like you have the MKII navi computer so I'm not sure what an upgrade would actually do for it. You can try buying an upgrade CD for 20 or 30 bucks on ebay. If I remember correctly though, when I had MKII it didn't do anything but actually add a warning screen letting me know that Navi could make me kill myself if I didn't drive carefully.

You could upgrade to the MKIV computer and 16:9 widescreen, which would give you a world of difference. I did it and never looked back:

All depends on how much you are looking to spend and how much it matters to you in the end.

How much does the new 16:9 nav unit run? I have no in-dash nav on my 1998, but would love to have the most up to date unit installed.
