Hi,
Im sort of new here, but not new to forum posting. So i tried searching for correct tire pressure for the 06' and up 162 Sport wheels. All I found was a bunch of results that did not pertain to my search. Anyways, I would appreciate if I could know what the correct pressure for the tires should be on these wheels, cold and hot, so I can keep this noted. Reason why I asked is because I justed picked up the set from a local seller for a good deal, and I slapped them on my 06' 325i, because the stock 16" wheels were doing my beautiful car no justice. Ill throw a pic of how they look now, but i guess no different than any other 3 with them already equipped from the factory. Thanks!

What are the tire brand and size?

Usually the recommended tire pressure for your car is printed on the side of the driver door panel for all manufacturer recommended tire sizes regardless of wheel type. If your tire sizes don't match any of those, then post the size and maybe someone here can help.

Thats what I did for now, the guy who sold them to me obviously wasnt keeping up on his tire pressures, because I found the fronts off, by a lot. The right tire was at 43psi, and the left at 29!! So for now I have them set at what the door jamb reads, 32psi in the front, cold, and 39psi in the rear, cold. For now, I just today setup a 4-wheel alignment for next thursday at my dealer, so Im gonna ask them to check tire pressure, balance the wheels, and align my car, just so I know its done, and I can drive on the wheels through this year without any doubts.
Plus, whenever I bring it in for service(oil changes, warranty work) I get to chose a new 07 or 08 coupe as a loaner!!!! Nice to have even if its just for a day! tee hee hee

I need to talk to my local dealer...

When my vehicle went in for service, I got a chair and a remote to their TV as a loaner.

Usually, you need to book a loaner in advance, sometimes a couple of weeks ahead, depending on how busy they are, they only have a limited # of loaners. Just make sure you mention that you want a loaner when you book your next service appointment. It is usually only complimentary for scheduled maintenance work or warranty related issues (e.g. not to change tires). Many times I'd prefer to wait an hour or so rather than waste time driving back to the dealer which usually has to be during rush hour and doesn't align with my schedule. My dealer also provides a computer with internet access, so the time is not totally wasted ;), and sometimes I may even test drive something while waiting.

OH MAN!! Yeah, you have to ask for a loaner when you book your appointment, but for me, the car is actually calling for service for 1/2008, I think its emmisions check up cuz its the little car showing with some smoke coming out the tail pipe, and I just happen to get the wheels last week, so Im not sure if I would have gone in for just an alignment if I would still get the loaner... Anyways, I have to get to work, so I usually return the loaner after work late in the afternoon, so I get to sport the coupe for the end of the day. Back in May, they kept my car overnight, so i was all happy to have the coupe for the night and whole next day!!!!

how did the whole tire pressure monitor thing work with these new wheels? and i was wondering would changing your rims void any warranties? im planning on putting new 18" on my 328i sedan... those 16" really had to GO!

No, what warranty you think wheels would void! :confused

You post weird confused smilies but he has a valid question. If you slap some double dubbs on that bad boy then the suspension fails, you'll have a hard time getting BMW to honor that warranty, regardless of what caused the suspension to fail.

But if you don't go over the top and get the recommended sizes, you probably won't run into any problems.

That was my worry too when I swapped the wheels... As I drove away, about 5 minutes later, the tire pressure warning light came on... So I thought, great, the wheels dont have the TPMS's, and that means more money, let alone for labor... So I reset it right then and there, and it cleared itself, and went to the gas station to check the tire pressure.
At the gas station, I found the front tires all sorts of messed up, so I corrected them, and the rears were fine... So then, about a little while later, the light came on again, so Im really thinking, dammit, Im really didnt want to spend more money. SO I reset the warning indicator again... Since that same day(Sat 1/19), the light didnt come back on. I guess it must have the sensors, and the reason the light was coming on was due to the tires pressures being wrong, and then adjusted.. So, now Im very happy!!!!
As far as the warranty issue, I dont think it should be a problem, considering there an option with the car when you buy it new, so other than a good alignment, I dont think the wheels could damage anything on the car... At least to cause the warranty to be voided..
