and it has 100k less, with wheels and is a 530I. So I'm very happy, I just got to keep fixing the silly things.

becasue you have to prove your dedication, devotion , and love by making the roadtrip home in a completely unproven, new to you car.

Mine came from Anaheim. left home at 5am for the air port, arrived at 9:30ish, drove the touring from the airport to the PO's house to sign the papers... new car new city lost as hell and couldnt even find the turnsignals :)
left for the 800 miles back around noon, and got home some 22 hours after I left (2:30 AM).

I worked for this one

I bought kind of like that, I flew to San Fransisco at we met at the airport parking lot. I saw the car ,started it, checked it over, gave him the money and left. A solo drive to San Diego on a 30+ year old car sight unseen, about 900 miles later I was home. Thats a test ride.

took a train from Boston to Columbia SC. to MB dealer and drove the car back to Boston. I did have a "PPI" done at the BMW dealer next door to the MB dealer I was buying the car from. They found it supposedly only needed a guibo, valve cover gasket, and a brake light circuit switch. The MB dealer agreed to replace the Brake Light Switch and I paid the BMW shop to replace the guibo and valve cover gasket. The BMW dealer never charged me for the PPI. NOW I know why! They did a crap job on the valve cover gasket (it is being redone) the car had many more needs then their PPI discovered. All normal wear items on a e34 I have come to discover but still things I would think a dealer would mention in a PPI. As for the Brake Light switch the MB dealer did a Rube Goldberg fix to that and it broke half way on my trip home. I did get the car pretty cheap though $4900. 2 owner car with no paintwork,no sunroof, no leather and most important to me ZERO rust!
