Limited to 136 cars and they only have time for three runs per car? I think I'll pass... :az:

That may change, I *may* have gotten a hold on the lot at Landover Mall, which is a lot bigger lot than rosecroft.

SoloII///M- most of the DC council events are run like that. If we have more runs, the less cars we can accomodate (like SCCA capping their event at 250, instead of 300 just so everyone can get 4 runs) If we run more cars, vice-versa. Unless you want to be there until 8pm cleaning up, it just doesn't happen. People complain a lot here too, they're happy when they hear 4 runs, but then get pissed when they have to be there longer for than an hour. :dunno: The only way SCCA does it is because their lot is HUGE.

Hmmm. NE-Ohio Region SCCA (last region I ran in) generally gets five runs (people gripe when we go to four), and they have a four-heat setup (Work-Rest-Run-Rest or some variation thereof) so you're there all day. I did three seasons with them and was there all day - 7AM to set up and left at 6 after tearing down. So it wasn't too bad.

We typically had 225-230 cars... we just minimized changeover time and tried to start right at 10AM every event. If we can do 4-5 runs with that many cars and a small lot, I'd expect to get at least 5 runs with half as many cars!

Oh, don't get me wrong, *I* dont mind being there all day, as long as it goes by smoothly. I've done it numerous times :D

But when we do an all day thing like that, people here tend to whine and complain. They've been spoiled with 4 separate heats, in which you run, work, and you're done and you get to leave. It's hard to please everyone.

I'm alreayd thinking about recommending a change in the way we run the local council events. Maybe do a morning and afternoon session, that way we can minimize lag time (walk thrus, drivers mtg, etc, etc) and this way, try to get more runs in. (we just have to find a lot big enough to grid about 80 people) Hopefully, one of the council events will catch your eye, and you'll come check it out. Did you register for the SCCA event on the 27th? They've got a nice setup there.

I was about one inch from registering for the 9am heat before I realized I have a 10K that morning. I'm thinking about going into the 3pm heat and just making it a full day.

What are 95 M3's classed in SCCA? B Stock?

Elaine,

Yes, I'm signed up for the WDCR-SCCA #1 at FedEx this Sunday. Car #16.

When Salazar gets a bigger venue, I'll be sure to check it out!
