These NY boys (Adam & Eddie) of Project M-Spec are excellent techs for just about any project you have in-store for your bimmer. I unfortunately money-shifted my M52 motor a couple of months ago. I called them that night on a Friday at 10 pm about my problem, and they recommended me to a reasonably priced flat bed. They waited for my arrival (it was late). I could tell they were tired... I really appreciate it.
About a week later, they found a good S52 motor for me. They also recommended other things for me to put in since the motor & tranny would be out. So my new clutch, motor & tranny mounts, ltfw, stainless steel clutch line, redline cocktail for my tranny did not involve labor costs; I just paid for the parts. After all that, they dropped the AA C38 kit. Oh yeah, they had previously did my 3.38 LSD.
They are extremely fair and will work with you. Did I mention that they did an excellent job with the motor swap? The head was sent to a machine shop and got tested and milled. It runs like a new car now, no vacuum leaks or anything... thanks to their smoke machine. All my readings from my WB AFR & vacuum/boost gauges are on point. They made sure they did it right and explain many things to me along the way. I really learned a lot about my car.
There were times when I was frustrated because I couldn't get to them, but when I finally got through, I was relieved to hear about all the progress. So they never forgot about me. I highly recommend them and I wish them lots of luck, especially in their new and bigger location.
