DuRWooD 01-19-2008, 09:16 PM I'm jealous! I have a cheap ebay one which I'm sure does nothing
MadJeff 01-19-2008, 09:22 PM Once in awhile it's nice to come across this kind of stuff. A few weeks ago I ended up picking up a set of authentic M skirts off Ebay. The seller was local here in Portland and the bid was at 1.25 with a buy it now of $250. I ended up sniping it at the end for $21.50. And then to top it off, the color matched my car exactly! I should have gone and bought a lottery ticket that day... =)

I actually felt a little guilty picking up the skirts. I think the best part of the deal was that the seller has an excellent BMW salvage shop here in Portland and I now have a good source for parts. Great guy too, and he has a ton of stuff for good prices. He has a store on Ebay, and you can see his website here:

No affiliation, just seems to be a great guy.

thanks guys, this find made my week!....the look of the brace on that website looks great, but its still not a RD for $50 :D
screwbiedoo15 01-20-2008, 04:57 AM Dang that's a really good deal!
strayts 01-20-2008, 06:11 AM unbelievable. i have the same one and paid over 200 for it... totally worth it though.
screwbiedoo15 01-20-2008, 06:16 AM Is there a big difference in feel? I'm just curious since i don't see as many people with strut bars as i'd expect
strayts 01-20-2008, 06:21 AM to be quite honest, i haven't actually felt the difference in my car for this reason: i overhauled all of my suspension at once, and the strut bar was only one of the elements of the project. new shocks, springs, sway links, thrust arms, lower control arms, dog bones, new shock mounts (duh) all around, new tie rod ends, and the strut bar. my point in saying this is: the car felt brand new (probably even better than new with bilstiens and lowered :>) so i wouldn't know exactly what the strut bar did, BUT there is very little flex in the front of the car. that said, i'm happy with it.

Dang I'm gonna have to get into the strut bar biz.....225 for steel.....he's got about 14 dollars in material and i would say maybe 2 hours worth of labor...sounds like i'll have a summer project;)

That looks absolutely gnarly. :evil2 It's one piece, no hinges, and pretty damn straight (exc. 2 very obtuse angles). Go for the steel one definitely. I bet you any money it's stronger than the Al. Only reason Al is more expensive is because it's lighter. But what do I care 5 LBS either way in an area of such structural importance? :rolleyes I'm saving up for this as soon as I find a set of H&R Sports for the E34 under $230!! :( Tire Rack is an option, then the $hipping kills me....
E34nication 01-24-2008, 12:30 AM nice find. great deal.

I just picked up a few parts from him recently as well, super nice guy, good prices. Hope to see his business grow and have a local parts source! He also regularly advertises parts on craigslist in Portland. Needs a better website, but he's a small operation with little time.
