View Full Version : Angel Eyes w/ High Beam - Troubleshooting?

My passenger side is all wired up. Everything works, the HID's, the Angel eyes, the turn signal (got rid of the parking light), and the high beams.

Now the drive side, wired up exactly the same, the high beam comes on and stays on with the angel eyes. I've spliced the gray wire from the angel eyes into Grey/Purple wire on the parking light. That turns the high beams on and the angel eyes on. Its like they are both wired to the same place.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, that's odd. I would just say to take the cover off the back of the headlight and look around inside to see that everything inside the headlight is wired correctly. Maybe you accidentally spliced the ballast into the high beam wire inside the headlight and then accidentally plugged the gray city light wire in the 4-pin connector into the high beam pin on the headlight. :dunno I know when I put mine in the gray city light wire was really light colored, making it easy to confuse with the white high beam wire.

The lights were wired up by Habbie. Its supposed to be PNP. So Im not sure if its the wiring inside.

i think its your PNP harnes like you have one color where the others supposed to be SAMETHING happend to me when i hooked up my citylights to day...just swich them...You wired it right. I think its just your PNP connection

Robbert, do you mean where the harness plugs into the 4 Pin Connector? You think those are in the wrong order? I figured they'd be the same on both. Though, the FAQ says its possible they wont be.

Right now its

Ground - 12 O'Clock
Grey/AE - 3 O'Clock
Yellow - 6 O'Clock
White/AE - 9 O'Clock

Thanks for the help. Looks goofy right now. :lol3

That order isn't set in stone. You have to look at the pins, find one that is labeled and correspondingly attach the rest in order. Mine didn't line up according to that schematic either, after taking a hard look at the connector housing it turned out my plug was rotated 90 degrees. Double check on yours, that's probably the culprit.

these are your zkw's? if so try swapping the angel eye pin and the high beam pin.

Yeah, the ZKW's. I've switched the connections of 9 and 3 o'clock. Still had the same problem.

Is it possible that the pin's are off 90 degrees? So pin 2 would be ground instead of Pin 1 (or rather pin 1 be at the 3 oclock position instead of 12)? I'll try that out tomorrow morning.

not usually and moreso not on zkw's. snap a few pics of the pins so i can take a look.
**Mike, if you are up later i'll give you a ring. pm me if its cool.
