I'm probably going to get flamed for this post, but my searches on the forum have been inconclusive, I see threads that contradict each other. In regards to the DSC button on my X3 ... is DSC ALWAYS on unless turned off? When I press the DSC button and the dash illuminates an orange 4x4 light does this mean DSC is engaged or disengaged? The BMW manual is just as confusing.

DSC is always on unless turned off by the button, in which case the indicator comes on in the cluster.

I believe:

1. Pushing the button once will change into DTC mode
2. Pressing and holding the button turns off all traction control

I may be rusty on that, but that's for the X3 and I am assuming the software is similarly designed.
