Does anybody have a wornout 245/40 ZR 17 they want me to haul away?

A Michilen Pilot Sport would be perfect, but anything that size will work. I have $$$...

Ive got a Dunlop SP9000 in 245/40ZR 17. 6mm tread (not really sure, but will tell you if you interesting). Would make a gift to you. You must pay only the shipping fees from Germany.

Check on craigslist...I bought two Continentals in that same size from the guy w/ like 75% tread left for $20 each. I think he has some PS on there right now in that size.

Thanks Marco, but the shipping would probably kill my "trying to do it on the cheap".

Thanks for the tip Robengrat,

I found the Kumho one earlier and I emailed the guy you bought the conti's from.

I have a set of 235/45/17 Nittos just sitting in my garage. I was going to use it for auto-x, but let me know.

I've got two 245/40-17 Hoosier A3S04's in the garage you can have.

Pretty sure that's not exactly what you had in mind, though. :)

I might take them off your hands. I couldn't find a description for the A3S04 Do you think they'll be okay for my bi-monthly drives unitl April.

Well... That depends on how far you plan on going. I would call them a 'dry, warm weather' tire only. :)

Those are hillarious! Are you serious about giving them away?

Seeing as how I gave them to him I am pretty sure he is serious about giving them away.

Would it be a death sentence to do a couple drives on dry roads, but colder temps with those until I get my new tires?

I wouldn't say its a death sentence I would just drive extra careful. Especially if you have street tires up front because the grip would be radically different and it would upset the balance of the car.

A death sentence? Probably not for you. Your rear rocker panels will probably have no paint left on them by the time you take the tires off (or get home from the first grocery run)... And if you look at water the wrong way, hold on tight. They're definitely intended to be competition only.

If you are interested in getting brand new tires, I can get you a deal on Bridgestone/Firestone/Fuzions.

I will be interested in new tires in a couple months. I'm still figuring out if I want to repair the curb rash on my stock wheels of go aftermarket. I have a line on some one piece 18" BBS RK's.

Thanks guys. I bit the bullet and bought the General Exclaims off of craigs. I wanted to get something cheap and quick so I could go to the GTG this Saturday. I've never even heard of that brand before and I'll replace them with new Michelin Pilot Sports once I figure out if I'm going to upgrade my wheels. But, I'm actually not that disappointed, they don't look half bad.

They aren't bad for their price, but they aren't RE-01Rs or Pilot Sports.

but they aren't RE-01Rs

Not much other than the Neova or an R-compound is. :)

I <3 my RE01Rs.
