Hello,
First time poster in the forums!
I am thinking to sell my black 1996 3000GT NA (manual transmission). It has 120,852 miles on it and it is mechanically & cosmetically in great condition (there is a small ding on right rear side).
I bought the car at the end of August 2007 at 118,842 miles and it’s my daily drive since then. We are expecting our first baby at the end of May, so I better switch to a 4d sedan.
CONDITION (some highlights only – upon your e-mail I will send you the full history):
1) I have all the maintenance records for last 35,000 miles.
2) In summer 2006, its 120k maintenance was done (including timing belt and all other parts.)
3) I put billet grille to the front.
4) Shift boot changed couple of months ago.
5) Transmission fluid changed on 9/13/2007 with BG syncroshift II.
6) Oil changed with Redline 10W40 2 months ago.
7) Radiator and alternator are in perfect shape.
8) Front exhaust pipe (downpipe) changed in October 2007.
9) Front rotors replaced in summer 2006 (in Sept. 2007 rear brake pads changed).
10) It has stage 2 3SX clutch and fidanza flywheel (5/5/2004).
11) Right front wheel bearing changed on 5/20/2006.
12) Transmission was replaced on 8/1/2005 at 100,822 miles.
13) There's no rust on the chassis. And believe me, I looked! When I was buying the car, I searched it all for rust and the only place was under the rear hatch. It's not bad at all, just a little circle of it under the paint.
It is running great with no mechanical problems or whatsoever.
Minor issues: the owner before me had the passenger window motor replaced, but they didn't wire it back up right, so you can put the passenger window down on the driver’s side, but not back up. And you can't try to put them down or up at the same time or it messes up the fuse.
I think at one time the rear antenna froze or something, and don’t work as well. So it makes a weird noise when you put it up or down, and you need to help it out a little bit. Please don't think that radio is not working though, I am listening to it all the time without any problems.
Weather strips might need to be changed in summer.
In addition, I am including some parts that I bought for future:
1) Brake set (4 rotors, 4 pads, 4 assembly hardware): Front and rear rotors are Stillen drilled (with just 1 mile pass). Front calipers are polished Mitsubishi calipers and assembly hardware was chromed. Rear calipers are powder coated and assembly hardware is new/chromed. All the pads are stock Mitsubishi pads with 1k miles on them – close to $500 of value.
2) 11 quarts of Redline 10W40 synthetic motor oil - $100 of value.
Overall, my asking price is $6,250. It might be on the higher end of the spectrum among 120k 3000GT’s, but you will be buying a no-problem car.
Here are some pictures that I took when I first bought the car at the end of August (it is in better condition right now since I detailed the car in October – including claying, Menzerna intensive & soft polishing, and putting a Klasse sealant on top):
