Seems like only one ebay source:

Also these are plastic but it looks as if no inverters are needed. Anyone have experience with these guys? $99 shipped!

I'm interested in the comestic looks and really don't want to light up an entire city block with these high bulbs.

Orange lights with stock eom bulbs...who makes them?

there are absolutely no such things as "oem e36 angel eyes"

only "oem e39 angel eyes"

you mean you want angel eyes with amber light bulbs?

then make it...

I feel ya. Something other than the ultra white 6000k angel eyes, more like the stock on the new 3 series.

i bought mine from the guy in latvia. at first glance they look to be very similar in color to OEM, just much brighter. However, a side by side comparison with my 530 shows the OEMs to be a bit more on the whitish, while the ccfl rings are more towards the orange side. i'll try to a side by side comparison pic and post it up.

wow...I'm looking for an "E39 look" if that makes any sense. The white angel rings that every seems to be making are too intense for my taste.

I'm actually digging the $49 version because it appears that inverters are not needed since they take the stock bulb. I have an email to the seller about that. They are white angel rings but for the price, it works.

latvia as in the country, fyi.

i've heard of people "gutting" a set of e39 lights to make their own angel eyes... but ive only heard, never seen pics or anything.

as for those $49 ones, they look similar to the stock US housing with rings inside, they still might be powered by inverters. But i dont really know what's going on there, it's new to my eyes.

they do have Gen V (?) kits available from way back when, these used fiber optics that ran out of bulky light boxes that had to be installed in you engine bay. i had a set and hated them - even though the color was very close to OEM e39.
