Would appreciate any help in locating onboard computer dislplay for 1997 840ci. LED lights keep buring out every few years. I've owned the car since 1997, and this is the 3rd or 4th computer display I have had to replace. At $500+ a pop, I was hoping for some guidance to purchase for less. Thanks, ARJ

I was under the impression that BMW bulletin covered the 800 series computer dispay panel for 10 years with free factory replacement.

no, not completely true, BMWNA reviews each request on a one by one basis and determines what percentage they will pay for (part and labor). Some have gotten the computer for free, but pay for labor, others got the computer for 50% off, while others have been refused any compensation. I was told that since I wasn't the original owner, BMWNA would not cover the replacement. My dealer here, however gave me the unit for free with free install since I bought alot of stuff from his dealership and he just thought it to be good customer relations.
