chrisboiii 04-16-2003, 10:04 PM SWEET!
RyanC 04-16-2003, 10:05 PM Holy-moly! That's some outstanding power, bud :) Not only that, but it looks great. So how many tickets have you gotten so far? :D
mrdoenutz 04-16-2003, 10:17 PM Hey Ryan,
0, and I want to keep it that way hehe
Alex330ci 04-16-2003, 10:49 PM Jeez...what the hell did they do to it? Turbo I guess, huh?
That's sweet! What did it run you?
mrdoenutz 04-16-2003, 10:55 PM HMM, quite a bit, hehe
William Regal 04-16-2003, 11:13 PM What are the specifics of your setup?
mrdoenutz 04-16-2003, 11:19 PM stage 2+ (t60-1) turbo
turbo exhaust
8.5:1 cr (Je Pistons)
Pauter Rods
3.2L spec motor
turbo cams
upgraded fuel pump
aa dyno tuning
thats basically it, might have left a few details out, think i covered it all tho.
William Regal 04-16-2003, 11:23 PM Cool, congrats.
What psi are you running?
mrdoenutz 04-16-2003, 11:24 PM 12-14psi on pump, past 14 use race gas until i get the w/a. 12 pulls hard and strong though.
mrdoenutz,
Sweet Car!
Where did you get the ///M emblem for the hood?
mrdoenutz 04-16-2003, 11:28 PM ebay =)
mrdoenutz,
Where in Orlando do you live? I'll be moving back there in June when I finish school. so maybe I'll see your car on the road sometime. I'll know better not to try and race you though.:D
m3j0n 04-17-2003, 01:40 AM HAHAH! i saw your car while i was at AA... it looks great! where did you get the DTM kreuz wheels from?
-Jon
BMWguy206 04-17-2003, 04:00 AM Glad that you have your car back. Now lets see what that bad boy can do at the local drag strip!
congrats, car looks great:)
Hawaii 04-17-2003, 04:29 AM got any more pics of the engine
mrdoenutz 04-17-2003, 07:38 AM NLR-
I leave right next to UCF.
m3j0n-
I got the wheels from Alex at eurospeed performance.
Jon Caldito-
Ill probably check it out sometime after my finals are over. Karl said i should get about 119mph trap speed.
preppyaznboy349-
Thanks
Hawaii-
Ill take some more pics later today.
John (PA) 04-17-2003, 08:09 AM Wow.. most impressive. A Viper killer!
That E46 bumper really gets the air in there!!
mrdoenutz 04-17-2003, 08:31 AM hehe, i want to find a viper.
NoSoup4U 04-17-2003, 08:50 AM DAYUM!!! .... great to hear, just in time for summer as well :D. So you kept the stage II i/c then. Would their still need to be custom fitting going to stage III's i/c? That front air dam on the e46 bumper is HUGE!!!!!!! Almost makes me want to go out and get that Reiger bumper ....
My car is under the knife right now ... by friday ... I'll be able to run around 12-13 lbs of boost (I only have stock internals :( ) ... can't wait to get her back. I gave my mechanic a list that's 3 pages long (single-spaced) on items I want him to inspect .... heheh :D ....
One thing I would recommend, the remote boost controller. It's sold by greddy ($110) and plugs into the back of the profec-b. It mounts on your steering wheel and it's a button you push to switch b/w hi and lo-boost. Button is ugly; but, it's for those times when you want to play with the bigger boys on the road!!!
SWEET color car ......
///MINI 04-17-2003, 09:09 AM Wow! That Rieger lip looks like it was made to house the IC. Great looking setup. I'm very jealous. Turbo bastards!
mrdoenutz 04-17-2003, 09:30 AM NoSoup4U-
I think the only thing to fit the stage 3 is to replace the front stock radiator fan with dual thin electric fans and some cutting on the reinforcement bar.
///M Roadster-
its acutally an AVR front end, i was actually one of the first in the us to have that style bumper, got it about 3 years ago. AVR was the only company at that time to have that style, so its fiberglass and my brotherinlaw did work to fit it in their to make it look like it was suppose to be there. If i have to go with antoher one for whatever reason i would go with the rieger.
SilverStreak 04-17-2003, 09:44 AM Awesome! With the proper launch, 119 mph traps could translate to 11's, if you can get a decent 60' time. What tires are you running?
mrdoenutz 04-17-2003, 09:46 AM hehe, ya it should be able to do 11's, but probalby not with me LOL. I need to get bigger tires later when these burn out, i only have 225/40/18, ill go 235/40/18 in the front and 255/40/18 in the rear next time i need tires, may also go with a 18x9 rim in the back and just use the 2 i have on there now (18x8) as spares.
John (PA) 04-17-2003, 10:04 AM Do you have more of a side shot of the bumper.. and what brand.. and did it fit well?
My IC only has about 4" exposed in my current bumper. :(
///MINI 04-17-2003, 10:06 AM I have 265's in the rear and even those aren't wide enough to keep traction.
SilverStreak 04-17-2003, 10:10 AM It's not just width, it's type/compound, and a nice tall sidewall helps with flex at launch.
If you plan on running it at the strip, I highly suggest some lightweight 17x9's with BFG DR's 275/40-17's for launching...
bimmerpwr 04-17-2003, 10:34 AM WOW! That is a sweet looking setup! Congrats! AA sure knows how to make our cars go faster.
mrdoenutz 04-17-2003, 10:38 AM John (PA)-
I can take a side shot later today, the brand is AVR, i had the body shop install it a while back its glued on the reinforcement bar so when i bought the m3 i had to take it off with with the reinforcement bar with the bumbper shocks. They took oem side brackets and put the on the bumper, not sure how easy it was, but after they finished it, install wasnt too bad and it fits nicely
John (PA) 04-17-2003, 10:41 AM Thank you very much Mr. D. I figured it wasn't exactly bolt on, but sounds like no biggie. Look forward to the pic. :)
hukalaki 04-17-2003, 01:08 PM Mr D,
How much did it all cost out the door?
ham
jonsibal 04-17-2003, 01:44 PM congrats on getting your car back matt.
How many guys here on the boards are actually running a full AA stage 3?

Not many now that you can get 400+ RWHP from an engine with stock internals, but what is your definition of stg3?

I get confused with this too but once the engine internals have been done like forged this and that, isnt that considered a Stage 3?

I don't think that is the case anymore.
NoSoup4U 04-17-2003, 02:17 PM I think AA designates stage III as having the FMIC as well. You need a bigger FMIC. The T60-1 can be done with the mitsu20g backend; but, to fully run higher boost 14+ lbs ... you should really upgrade the IC. The stage III IC is the same one that the full blown stage IV guys use.
Maybe there is no stage III+, just stage III and then Stage IV = the hand of god pushing you type of power.
I'm shooting for 400+ rwhp on stock internals ... at 322 rwhp at 6.5 lbs of boost, I should be able to hit it with 12-13 lbs of boost pretty easily. We'll see ...
Let me quantify that, you need to upgrade the IC that comes with stage II ... to the stage III's larger IC size ... I think that's what makes a FULL stage III.
jonsibal 04-17-2003, 02:19 PM From what I gathered, a full stage 3 is with the 60-1 turbo, 8.5:1 CR through pistons, built internals, upgraded fuel pump, turbo HFM, bigger injectors and a stage 3 intercooler.:dunno
We should ge Karl or Mike to post here in the boards on their free time:)
NoSoup4U 04-17-2003, 02:23 PM Bigger injectors? Really, the 47# injectors are not large enough for stage III?? wow ...
jonsibal 04-17-2003, 02:32 PM my bad, i didnt realize that was the same injectors used on stage 2. I was just looking at the list to upgrade from stage 1 to 3.
MFaust 04-17-2003, 03:06 PM That is a great looking set up!! I hate you.

322 rwhp @ 6.5 lbs? Is that on a Dynojet? If it is, then at 12-13 lbs you should be able to hit the 400 rwhp on a Dynojet.

Whats up? How the hell did they get the Cold Air Intake on the other side? What is the pipe (where the CAI used to be) going to?
:coolflash

RyanC 04-17-2003, 03:54 PM Uh, have you read this thread?
;)
The turbo is on the exhaust side, so the intake is close by. IC outlet is on the intake side, hence the pipe location.
NoSoup4U 04-17-2003, 04:48 PM ///Mcubed -
This is the dyno machine I used. See Karl's comments as well, guess he thinks it's okay to use :D His comments in italics. I asked him if the dyno machine I used was a good one.
1) http://www.autothority.com/dyno.htm -- Yes, I thought that these are good dyno's? It's virtually brand new at the shop.
The supeflo is an excellent dyno , it is like BMW to Toyota in rice as compared to a dyno jet, it reads close to the Mustang dyno also.
So, that's why he was surprised ... we've talked and Karl doesn't believe these are inflated numbers. He thinks on a typical dynojet, I would actually put out higher numbers :buttrock
Everyone tells me, including my mechanic, my engine was blessed by the fairy engine gods which I'm very thankful for.
John (PA) 04-17-2003, 09:18 PM Thank you for the bumper pics.. I'm going to do that for sure. :)
dave is cool 04-18-2003, 12:00 AM AWESOME!! If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? I've been asking so many people on the forum this question, I'm kind of getting sick of typing it over 100 times now :D
mrdoenutz 04-18-2003, 08:18 AM I work for my sister and brotherinlaw, we sell custom lapel pins.
Congrats on your car, looks beautiful.
You should be able to do 11s with proper launching and shifting techniques. I ran a 11.6@124 with 392rw, I'm sure you can pull it off.
And call Karl back and tell him 119 is what a Viper does, you're a Viper killer now...:)
slickav 04-18-2003, 05:58 PM Damn that is TOO cool!  :buttrock :buttrock :devillook
mrdoenutz 04-18-2003, 10:17 PM Here are the results from the track tonight. This is with the 225/40/18 street tires. The slow times are mine, the fast one is my brotherinlaw driving my car, this is 16psi with race gas.
http://www.neatoweb.com/timeslip2.JPG
Keep practicing, you can get it into the 11s. I'm sure if you can pull a trap of 118, you have the potential to get in the 11s.
Practice that launch! I did my run on a 13psi with an 11.6@124. You can do it.
mrdoenutz 04-18-2003, 10:36 PM 13 psi!?!?! which turbo u running?
My mistake. 15psi on T60-1.
mrdoenutz 04-18-2003, 10:39 PM ohh ok, thats sounds a little better, i have the t60-1 too.
Once you get the launching down, the rest is a piece of cake if you know your car well enough. If you're new at it(I can sort of tell from your times:) ) give it some time, when you get better, you'll be waving at those Vipers and Z06s.
catbread 04-21-2003, 12:55 AM I had the opportunity to ride in this car the other day, but i decided i didnt want to...........LOL....... This car is amazing. I definitely had a huge stupid grin on my face the whole time! Congrats again Matt!
John (PA) 04-21-2003, 07:48 AM Hit the drag race forum. You need to work on the launch a little, but it takes a lot of practice, especially with that kind of power. :) That car is flying man. :buttrock
Where did you score the bumper? I'm having trouble finding it.
mrdoenutz 04-21-2003, 08:07 AM i got it straight from Autovogue, but if i were you i would just get the Reiger one since its made out of abs plastic, there is some special group buy going on right now in dtmpower.net i think it cost 540 shipped to your door for that style front.
NoSoup4U 04-21-2003, 08:13 AM I think www.mms-tuning.com has an even better price shipped. IIRC, it's around $450 shipped to your door. I agree with Doenutz, it's ABS plastic vs. fiberglass. I would definitely go with Rieger products.
Vic is the guy's name at mms-tuning. They are a bf.c supporting vendor.
mrdoenutz 04-21-2003, 08:24 AM i have a correction, the dtmpower price is and i quote "Rieger E46 M3 Style front (E30/E36/E46) - $475 shipped" so if you can get it for 450 shipped, i would be all over it.
NoSoup4U 04-21-2003, 08:46 AM Doenutz -
He's local to you in FL IIRC ... you can pick it up from him and save even more money I believe ...
mrdoenutz 04-21-2003, 09:11 AM who the dtmpower guy?
SilverStreak 04-21-2003, 10:18 AM 12.3 at 118 mph is nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats! :buttrock
A few things, though. 225's with all that power is your main problem. You need some width, and some sidewall flex for launch.
But your bro-in-law did a good job, managing a 2.0 60' time on those tires. You just need some practice.
With 1.8 60' time, you're in the 11's...
Let me know if I can be of any help!
M3TurboCa 04-22-2003, 12:35 AM Yes your brother in law did a good job with the 225 tires and cut a 2.0 60' times :) nice trap speed.
The best trap I could get was 116.87mph at 12 psi April 11th.
I definately need drag radials do anybody know what size will for on the rear on a 17x8 wheels that is my spare set of wheels my current rears are 245/40/17 on 17x9.
stjobs 04-22-2003, 01:10 AM Looks great, and it's making awesome power :D

17x9's- you'll want 275/40-17's, that's what you'll want to run on the rear.
mrdoenutz 05-07-2003, 10:13 AM Wooot WOOT im going with a rieger front and rear bumper, found a guy that sold me the front cheap. Anyone want my front end?
WhiteM32 05-07-2003, 11:40 AM hey mr. d. You didn't get the rieger front and rear from a guy in cali did you???
Are they painted silver???
mrdoenutz 05-07-2003, 11:48 AM Nope, im getting a brand new rear from MMS-tuning.com , the front im buying semi locally and im picking it up, the guy bought it and he sold his car so it is brand new too, but im getting it a lot cheaper. WHy??
