I wonder if the location they're talking about is the old Tustin MCAS-- though I don't know if it's still around (moved out of OC a long time ago.)
What a dream job that would be!
BabyM 01-15-2008, 07:53 PM looking forward to seeing that!
SRT Handz 01-15-2008, 07:57 PM Says that it will be filmed in LA...i wonder how I could get in the audience!!!!
CosmossM3 01-15-2008, 08:00 PM finally we get a show like this in the US.. thank god there gonna be in Los angeles!!!
Bears 01-15-2008, 08:03 PM Dumbest idea ever :(
Without Clarkson, May, and Hammond there is no Top Gear.

You've got a point. Hopefully with the right casting, it will come into its own (i.e. "The Office" vs. BBC version, both great shows IMO.)

Wouldn't it just be easier to make a deal with the BBC, and broadcast Top Gear in the US? I know a lot of us would love that :D
chad///m 01-15-2008, 08:31 PM The BBC America channel has been airing episodes of Top Gear (06 season?) Hopefully they'll continue to do so. But, a major network like NBC would never just carry over a BBC show. I reckon they'd be worried about the British sensibility, humor, slang, etc. not carrying over, among other things.
They could def. slaughter the US version, though (like they did with "Coupling" and "The IT Crowd".)
kornkid8600 01-15-2008, 09:01 PM Even though it won't have Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig, WE do finally have a possibly GOOD car show finally in America. And not Car and Driver on SpikeTV with their boring spec break downs etc.
SRT Handz 01-15-2008, 09:52 PM i most likely will watch this but i will still Watch UK Top Gear..... I <3 Clarkson, may, and The Hamster....and the stig is my hero.
..."Real" Top Gear FTMFW
The Ripe Punani 01-15-2008, 10:28 PM The only trouble would be finding the three hosts. As for the Stig...just call up his American cousin. :stickoutt Would there be the same Lotus designed track? Heh...it'll be exciting seeing all those American cars getting massive understeer on the Hammerhead.
I still think that without Clarkson, The Hamster and Captain Slow there is no Top Gear. So you won't find me watching this spinoff...I'd rather watch the real Top Gear
SRT Handz 01-15-2008, 10:50 PM Stig's Uber Fat American Cousin FTMFW!!!!
llegos 01-15-2008, 11:00 PM we dont get the wild variety of amazing cars in our country though. O, how I would LOVE to work on that TV show.
danny123 01-16-2008, 12:33 AM i dont think theyll be as funny as the current crew...i just dont see it
This is going to flop. Just like the new Knight Rider.
f4im3 01-16-2008, 01:13 AM Maybe Norton AFB in San Bernardino. They used to have auto-x out there.
